5 LIVE Mangroves - Red Mangrove Seedlings - Filtration, Aquarium, Reef, Tank, Saltwater, Aquatic, Plants

I don't often write reviews, but had to for this one. After ordering, I started to kind of regret it due to the other reviews stating they need to be acclimated to saltwater. Somone even mentioned to just get them from Algae Barn, which I have done before. But before I could cancel my order they shipped already (way faster than expected ship date, almost 2 weeks faster). When they arrived, I was already not regretting my decision given the box itself was almost 2ft long. I opened up the box, and it was not just the packaging, the mangroves were huge. Which is actually why I ordered from here, given the reviews stated they were much larger than advertised. The shortest one is probably about 16", with a few being 24". They also sent me 7, versus the 5 I ordered. When I ordered from Algae Barn in the past, I got exactly how many I ordered and if I recall, only 1 or 2 even had leaves (a single leaf) on them and were maybe 9" max, while again these are huge and all have multiple leaves. Don't listen to the other comments, even if you have to saltwater acclimate them, it is well worth it. Mangroves grow slowly, so even if you have to acclimate them for 2 weeks, you save a year on growth rate.

Well packaged and healthy.

Received seven healthy seedlings with leaves and roots, each roughly the same length and maturity. They were in such good shape I put them in my main saltwater display tank, and happy I did, they look very cool. Very pleased with this purchase, I'd give it six stars if I could. Update - Four months after purchase and all 7 mangroves are still doing great. Roots have doubled in size (at a minimum), all shoots growing healthy leaves. The fishes love swimming around the roots, and the hermit crabs like climbing them. Have about 3" of the tops growing out of the top of the aquarium, so it adds a very unique look to the entire setup. Before adding these Mangroves, I was having persistent, frustrating, and time consuming nitrate issues, regardless of water change frequency. After adding these, nitrates started going down within a month, and now have been down to undetectable levels for the past 3 months. Have to say that to this date this has been my favorite purchase for my 1+ yr old display tank, for both aesthetics and maintaining water quality, and at a far lower price than any type of filtering equipment. Very happy customer, and I highly recommend based on the many benefits I describe above.

Always wanted to give it a shot. I had a brackish water tank set up with a mudskipper. Thought these would be a great idea to decorate the tank and give it some contrast. They came in in OK shape and lived in the tank for about 3 to 6 months before passing, I doubt it was the plants fault probably my care of the tank foot one into freshwater that if I remember correctly lasted a little longer but later past I would definitely try it again if I had the tank set up

I have several brackish aquariums, over the years I've had several more. These Mangroves from this seller are by far superior to any I've gotten in the past. Fully leaved and full rooted, they are beginning to grow.

roots damaged not good for a salt water tank

After several months now, these continue to grow. They grow very slow (for me anyway). I tried another company and the plants arrived in plastic sleeves (that’s how they start them growing) and you can’t remove them! They become imbedded once the plant starts growing. Who wants to see a plastic sleeve in their aquarium or wherever they decide to plant these. This company starts them in freshwater. So if you want to grow them in saltwater you have to slowly acclimate them over. Took me roughly 4 weeks, added 25% saltwater each week until I was at 100%

I ordered 5 and they gave me 6.. all of them came with plenty of leaves, the package that they were in was very nice and was done properly and came in a timely fashion.. Package was nice and sealed in a zip lock bag. All came healthy. from the time you ordered them, it does take a couple of days, so just be prepared to wait at least 2 to 3 days from the day that you ordered them. But by the time you get them, they are going to still be healthy and in good condition, due to preparation and shipping.
