Review: If you are considering making some scones these are highly recommended! I have made a lot of homemade scones in my day and these are absolutely even better. I think the orange flavor and cranberries set this apart as a decadent treat! I found the mix very easy to use. Simply pour the flour mixture into a large stainless steel bowl and cut room temperature unsalted butter into the mix with two dinner knives. I cut the butter up into smaller pieces while in the bowl. I then used a fork to mix in the cold water. There is no need to knead anything, just form a ball from the bowl and press it flat onto a nonstick baking sheet. Then cut into 8 pieces using a breadknife which is easy enough! You bake these at 450 degrees and then divide them up with a dinner knife after they come out of the oven. I baked them for 17 minutes which was 5 minutes longer than suggested. I thought that got all the dough totally baked. Then when the scones have cooled a bit you can drizzle on the icing. I found mixing in the tablespoon of orange juice was perfect with the icing/confectioners' sugar. This mix could not have been easier to bake with and I think you will want at least two scones per person! One is so delicious, you want a second one immediately! The scones have a delicate crumb and the texture was perfect. I thought the whole process went very fast and the scones were the correct size for breakfast scones or an afternoon snack. This is a great value! I am very happy with this mix and will get it again! I ate my scones with a little more room temperature salted butter. Delicious! ~The Rebecca Review Review: These are the best scones from a mix that I have ordered. Easy to make and delicious. They are kind of expensive but when I compare the price of the mix to the price of scones in the local market @ 1.99 each, it is comparable. I made a batch for our mail carrier for a Christmas gift and he said they were very good.

The taste of the finished scones was good. I am not a great baker and I’m learning. That’s for perspective. I know that scones need to be handled carefully, but I’m not certain of the fine differences. I followed the instructions and found the scones to be smaller than expected. I can’t be sure if that was me or if the box doesn’t have enough scone mix in it. I also found the instructions to be lacking some details, for example, you can use orange juice or cream in your glaze, but what does that mean for handling the finished scones in terms of storage? Minor things like that weren’t answered.
