Great for a budget system...runs cool and efficient!
After a ton of research, I decided to use this CPU for my father's budget PC build and it was a great choice. Very speedy and efficient. Below is the complete config I used and I couldn't be happier. With the Artic CPU heatsink, it idles at 31 C and peaks at around 55 C using Prime95. The main reason why I went with this CPU was for low power consumption since I like a quiet PC and the fact my father isn't a gamer.Rosewill MicroATX Mini Tower Computer Case RANGER-MMSI Computer Corp. Good for casual use, not gaming
If you're building a media center PC, then this is a great processor. It runs smoothly and without any bugs. I've built 3 Media Center PC's with this processor and they all run great. However, if you're looking to build a gaming PC, and are still on a budget, I would suggest getting the upgraded version of this processor: http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Pentium-Processor-G3258-BX80646G3258/dp/B00KPRWAZQ/ref=pd_sim_147_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=51KAbpUr9sL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR127%2C160_&refRID=0P8T7NBZEXC8G7VV8WJCThe upgraded version is overclockable and thus will last you much longer in the long run and have more power so that you aren't bottlenecked by your CPU.Overall, a very solid processor!

Great, low power, cool option
My roommate wanted to upgrade a pc that just burned out its motherboard for under 350 bucks. We found this processor for just under 56 bucks which was incredible. It got here and we plugged it in in tandem with a crucial mx100 SSD and had the system up and running in less than half an hour. He likes to play league of legends and this thing maintained 45-60 fps on the default settings, usually stick around 60. Now it's paired with an msi gtx 650 ti and it runs at max settings at a rock solid 60 fps. Oh, and one rather frustrating thing. I just built a pc with the same SSD, but with a high end mobo andean i5-4690k and his computer still boots faster than mine. For a sub 400 dollar gaming machine, my roommate is practically ecstatic with his build. I have built a number of different computers for people, and I have been pleasantly surprised at the performance this thing is capable of.

Delightful little charmer
I was going back and forth on a light-duty box for video encoding, and the G3258 (which is an unlocked chip, allowing for overclocking) was featured prominently in the dirt-cheap section. It's a dual core chip with no hyperthreading, so will show up as 2 processors in your OS. This is essentially the G3258's locked counterpart, so cannot be overclocked, and got it for around $50 here on Amazon, which was significantly cheaper than expected. Paired with a Gigabyte LGA 1150 Intel B85 Motherboards GA-B85M-Gaming 3 motherboard and 2x4GB Crucial RAM. Been hammering it for a week (on Debian 8) and it has remained cool and quiet so far, which is a remarkable feat. It will easily handle all of your light-duty office, web browsing, casual gaming, and other assorted tasks. As for the video encoding itself, it's in the same neighborhood as the equivalent Core i3's (which are dual core with hyper-threading) at 2.5 times the cost, and the next real step up is the Core i5's which are 4 times the cost for roughly double the performance. It's a huge step up (almost twice as fast) from the machine that formerly did this work, a Core i3 370m.

Good Budget Oriented CPU
This processor is great for work and most games. It also provides an upgrade path to more powerful i5 and i7 processors in the future.

Great low-end CPU
This processor is great for playing videos in high definition, doing homework, and web browsing. It doesn't run very hot even, and the included fan and heatsink do a good job at keeping it that way.
