Inexpensive compatible replacement for my 2014 T&C
Item: BDFHYK store’s CF10743 Cabin Air Filter w/activated Carbon Price: $9.49 after vendor’s 5% discount on 07 06 24 WHY I CHANGE CABIN AIR FILTERS AND WOULD USE THIS AFTER-MARKET ITEM… To maintain my vehicle’s ‘OEM Lifetime Warranty’ I endeavor to meet the regular maintenance schedule items for the vehicle. I learned early on that the cabin-air filter is one of those weak links in the chain for auto air conditioning; cooling and heating. The cabin-air filter, if not regularly changed, can clog and restrict the proper air flow going into the system. In the extreme it can cause the intake fan motor to fail. Additionally, if the filter doesn’t have a good charcoal media insert, you can end up with auto-cabin odors. That’s why I do my own change-outs for the cabin and have used very similar filters to the Ahewsue store’s filter. In a direct comparison of this cabin air filter to other Amazon sourced un-branded after-market filters, I found the BDFHYK to be equal and better than those others. While cabin-air filters all seem to be alike, I’ve compared and can share that this particular filter has the same ‘higher-count’ of folded filter material and a similar dark charcoal color; darker gray to black. More fan-folds means more effective filtering area. And a darker color typically indicates a higher concentration of activated charcoal. SUMMARY... I have used both national brand cabin-air filters and after-market filters. This particular BDFHYK unbranded filter, as mentioned, is as good and probably a bit better than other unbranded after-market filters. I’ll use this filter for my next change-out.
