Excellent espresso grinder! I was looking for the best single dose espresso grinder. This is the one! I have been using it daily and it has performed flawlessly: 1- extremely low retention 2- precise grind adjustability (stepless) 3- solid build quality 4- robust 5- compact design 6- very very very quiet (for a grinder) 7- easy to clean 8- affordable (i could have spent 4x-8x more to see a difference) 9- simple (I.e: no PHD required) Very happy with it! I’ve been using the HiBREW G5 for a little while now, and I have to say — I’m seriously impressed. It’s compact, quiet, and feels solidly built even though it’s relatively lightweight. From the moment I unpacked it, it gave me the sense that it was made to last. The low profile makes it easy to fit on my counter, and it pairs beautifully with my HiBREW H10A espresso machine, which I already love. One of the biggest surprises was how easily it handles even the hardest light roast beans. No bogging down, no struggle — just smooth, consistent grinding. I typically use the low-speed mode for espresso, and I appreciate that both speed settings (low and high RPM) have a timed auto shutoff. That’s a really nice touch — I can press the button and walk away if I want to. The Turkish setting is actually what it claims to be — extremely fine, which is something my old grinder could never achieve. The 36-step grind dial is clear and easy to understand, with labeled ranges for Turkish, Espresso, Moka, Drip, and Pour Over. I use #8 in the 4-15 Espresso range and it’s been perfect. The bellows air pump works great, especially combined with a quick water spritz to cut static. I almost always get 10 grams in, 10 grams out — virtually zero retention. And I like the slanted tilt design, which helps feed the beans through more efficiently. This was my first time using a conical burr grinder (all my previous ones were flat burr), and honestly, the grind consistency has really surprised me. The coffee comes out evenly ground at every setting I’ve tested so far. Other features that I find super helpful: • Magnetic dosing cup that locks into place perfectly — and even sticks to my gram scale • Quiet operation — I can grind early without waking anyone • Excellent value for the price — very few grinders in this range offer this much flexibility and performance Overall, the HiBREW G5 is a joy and actually fun to use. Paired my H10A espresso machine with this grinder. I've been really happy with the performance of this grinder. It's also very compact and doesn't take up a large footprint on my counter. It's easy to use and clean. Build quality is very nice too.

Excelente product,meet my expectations

This unit works much better than the brand I previously used. Clean, sleek, well made and nice precise adjustments. And it is cheaper than other models that measure out the coffee and store the beans. I don't usually write reviews, but am very impressed with this grinder - especially for the price.

Love that this grinder has smaller micro-type adjustments for espresso, but could also get coarse enough to handle my medium-fine moka pot grinding and pourovers too. It’s giving me a consistent grind so far, no big chunks of coffee grounds… smooth results for good flavor. Put the clear cover on top when pumping the bellows to eject any leftover grounds that might be in there. If you do that, retention is very minimal. I appreciate how sleek, modern & tiny it is on the countertop, and it’s quiet enough to not be a rude awakening in the mornings, lol. Even better: you can put an espresso mat or cloth under it to make it REALLY quiet, compared to many others… love this little grinder.

I am Very into coffee and coffee gear, so when this grinder became available I had to try it. It came packed well in an attractive box with the instructions, a warranty card (one year) and a coffee scoop with a brush on the end. Included in the box is a bellow for above the bean hopper, it's optional but I would strongly suggest you use it, as it does retain some grounds. How much? I collected about a gram after vigorous use of the bellows, but that was pulling the burr out for deep cleaning. I like the size of this grinder, it's compact and sized to fit below standard wall cabinet height. When I set this up I chose to use the angle forward option and left it that way (the chute fits right down to the mouth of the dosing cup when angled). I opted to not use the rubber mat, it just makes cleaning up harder. I found the dosing cup to be smaller around than I would like- it's a bit harder to measure beans into the little opening. Same thing goes for the hole in the bellows- I wish it was bigger. The anti-popcorn design seemed to work well. This had an interesting two speed function accessed by either pressing the start button (white light comes on) or long pressing the start button (blue light comes on). I gather the grinder runs more slowly on the blue light setting. I found this to be a quiet grinder, about as quiet as our Eureka Silenzio. I have used this for both drip coffee and espresso, and it was easy to switch between the two grinds (can't say that about the Eureka). I did watch some reviews on this grinder and agree with the suggestion to ignore the category boundaries on the grind scale, or at least use them as a general suggestion- I had to go to the coarse end of drip to get the right grind, and the fine end of expresso (I started at 9 and ended up at 5, which was just a bit too fine). I appreciate the stepless design, it lets you get exactly the fineness you need. Our old grinder was a Capresso Infinity burr grinder, this one runs circles around that one in just about every way, but it's a more expensive grinder, approaching $200. That puts it up in the arena with some pretty good grinders, I think you can shop smartly and find a good deal on a capable grinder for less. If you do buy this, you should be happy with it for a long time- but that brings up a point about the brand and the service, both question marks. Hibrew has been around since 2017, less than ten years. When reading the warranty card I noted that there was no mention of how to get service under the warranty. Presumably you would contact Hibrew customer service to get help. Are there any authorized service centers? No mention. Availability of parts was another question raised, but in all my life using grinders from blade to cone burr to flat burr, I have never needed any parts, so this may be a non issue. So how well did it do? Once this was dialed in I got really tasty coffee out of it. It's easy to use, seems to be well made (all metal), worked well for coarse and fine grind, it's compact and looks nice . . it's pretty darn good overall. My two negatives are grounds retention and price (it may be a result of new tariffs, as not long ago you could find these for $130 or so).
