Extremely simple and effective! Point of caution!!!!! Before you screw the plate in, i HIGHLY advise popping the door trim off and placing more shims between the stud and frame. The long screws will go into the stud and draw the frame in if there are not shims installed where its installed.Add some shims to fill the void, screw in the plate. Replace the trim. Easy peezy! Takes bout 5-10 minutes tops.When my door was busted it apparently damaged the door lock striker. It doesnt retract all the way when the knobs turned and is catching on the plate. Its not the plates fault if thats happening it means you probably need to also replace your damaged door knob mechanism. Just a heads up.

Easy to install and solid. Used this to fix and old shop door that was busted. It's stronger than it ever was before now.

Very easy to install and fixed my door frame perfectly. It’s held up to the roughness of my kids and doesn’t look too bad either. I thought it was a little bit expensive but worth it in the end.

I used this as a backing plate for a one piece latch (my door frame is a bit too wide for the door). This part has one not two openings for latches. If you need two, as I did, you will need to cut it to provide the second opening. I could not find a two opening security bar so I got this one knowing I would need to modify it. It has too few screw holes in my opinion so I added some more.

If you’re looking for your door reinforcement this item is perfect it’s quite long, so provide extra security, especially with a 2 1/2 inch screws provided. It will also close the gaps in your door to prevent any kind of prying. Just make sure there’s a gap enough for it. I installed this product over the existing plate. The plate seems well-built while still being light and the hardware provided is great. **** you will need a special bit in the shape of a square to use the hardware provided. I’m guessing it’s like a safety bit. ******

My bathroom door got kicked in and the door jamb was done for. This was easy to install and works well. It doesn’t look great, but it’s a good temporary fix.

Wasn’t sure if it would work due to the damage, but it fits great! The door feels new again and it took very minimal energy/time to install

This door insert has been really nice to put in place of a broken door frame until I can replace the frame. It's very sturdy, fits and works well for what I needed.
