The shampoo does not smell of tea tree or rosemary, it must be very small amounts. I've used it for two months and my stylist said there is no sign of improvement in my hair growth or thickness. I've had much better results with other shampoos. I don't recommend this one for that purpose. It does have a pleasant scent.
