This tool really works? Sharpened my hatchet, garden hoe, hedge shears, machete and meat cleaver very easily and in a short time. I wonder why I did not think of this tool before.

This is not a sharpener. It does not create an edge or blade. It will not eliminate nicks in a blade edge. It will make the already established blade edge a bit more sharp.If you start with a blade that is not totally abused, this works well with a few swipes. But if the edge has seen better days in the last decade, you will be swiping for a long time.This tool is very handy for those who want to keep a sharp edge on their garden tools. I use mine, clean them, hone the edges with this and put them away.Nice little tool for the money. It just is not described very well and comes with the most basic of instructions.

It worked great for my small pocket knife.

Had a hard time finding a sharpener for my Ulus outside of a whetstone since they are chisel edged (sharpened on one side), standard pull-through sharpeners wouldn't work without damaging the blade. And since it's curved, the hand held pull through "ulu sharpeners" caused me to cut my hand. This worked great and made a fast job of it. Very easy to use and eliminates chance of injury.

Multiple people of different ages and background have tried to get this to work but have had zero success.

This product worked surprisingly well on my outdoor shears.
