This is a great value in water softeners. The 5600 eco has been a work horse for several decades. It is reliable and dependable. This was a replacement for an autotrol electronic valve that always went crazy every time the power went out. Previously I have 20 years in the water industry and my opinion this unit is the most reliable still. The pricing is not much over dealer cost and I would not hesitate to purchase this unit again. The only down side is the 110v. 24v is much easier for a homeowner to work with unless you currently have an outlet right next to your installation site. I ordered the 24v timer motor and 24 volt ac/dc converter for around 35.00$ and eliminated the need for and electrician to run a 110v outlet. The unit has 1inch mpt on the bypass. The installation was very easy, but I have installed hundreds of them. The dealer video is very well done. The resin must be rinsed after installation account there will be dark water coming into your house. The install video suggests to let the unit go through a regen cycle after install. I flushed the unit by opening the mop sink cold water till the water ran clear, then set the unit to regen that night by advancing the meter wheel counter clockwise till it stopped. Hope this helps in your decision.

Replaced a failed older unit with this one. Fast delivery, no damaged or missing parts. No problems with installation. Been operating trouble free for a few weeks now with normal salt consumption.

This is my 2nd Fleck 5600 water softener. The had the first one for nearly 20 years. It is still working but I decided to replace it with a new one anyway. Follow the manual and you can install and startup easily. I give 4 stars because the program wheel does not have a "white dot" as indicated in the manual. You need to know this mark in order to program schedule for REGEN. I called Aplus Water LLC asking for help. The response from Aplus Water LLC was excellent. I give 5 stars for Aplus Water LLC Customer Service.

KISS: Keep it simple sister. As digital units are modern age they are clearly promblematic in outside elements. This model head controller has been around a long time and tested. With a little more time using your noodle to calculate water hardness, number of people and simple calculations water and salt savings and a set and forget with an accasional followup will be best. No doubt hundreds of over complicated controllers, fancy stainless tanks and gimmicks on the market. Buyer Beware of Snake Oil in a can with well equipment and the so called well man salesman snake charmer.

. Very disappointed in the quality, had to re-order 2 new heads before the system worked. The 1st one did not work at all, requested a new head and upgraded to digital, that head also did not work. Last week a 3rd head was delivered and the system is working. Has been very frustrated with the quality. I hope the 5 year warranty is good.

The softener is great. The only issue was the instructions were not correct for the unit purchased. I found the information on the internet but this should not be required.
