An excellent cartridge
Requires a precise set up. Dynamic, detailed, well worth the cost. Great match with Alva Duo phono amp.

The best cartridge I have ever listened too, period
I have no complaints. Every aspect of music was improved listening to records through this cartridge. I went from a ATVM95SH and Ortofon 2M Blue to the AT33SA. I have officially been ruined from going back to my old MM cartridges. The AT33SA is simply that good.

Welcome to the audiophile world
This Cartridge is the best you can have in this price range. The quality of sound is immaculate and balanced. The customer support from Audio-Technica is super professional and reliable. I use a Rotel turntable, Pro-Ject Tube Box S2 Phono Preamplifier, Power Amp Preamp Compact with 6J4 Vacuum tube, Rotel RB-1070, and Bowers & Wilkins 804 speakers.

Biggest improvement I have ever made in my sound system
I have always wanted to step up to a moving coil cartridge. After much research I had decided that the AT33sa would be the perfect match for my AT LP7 turntable. My TT had a built in MC preamp. I was blown away with the deference in clarity , imaging was so improved . The set up was fairly easy, but having a removable head shell made it so much easier. I do recommend a step up transformer to get the full quality in this MC cart though

Shibata Stylus Quality
It is the great one in mid rage cartridges. Strongly recommended to buy if you are looking for stereo Shibata cartridges.

Marvelous Cartridge And At A Bargain Price
This cartridge really punches above its cost. Just to have a boron cantelver at this price point is pretty good, but then you throw in the incredible sound and it's a real bargain! Very detailed sound with a huge soundstage is how I would describe this cartridge. The channel separation is unreal on good recordings! Not overly bright, but detailed, with punchy bass. I listen to mostly jazz and horns sound great, cymbals are crisp, vocals detailed. It turned out to be a good match for my Klipsch Forte IVs. I've had a few cartridges that were really voiced on the treble side that didn't pair well. This is a little more laid back. And the soundstage is just phenomenal! I bought the Analogue Productions 45rpm release of Yes' 90125 and was absolutely stunned at how good a quality pressed record can sound with this cartridge. The music almost envelopes you! It was quite stunning. This cartridge likes a fairly heavy tonearm and so it was a good match for the arm on my MoFi turntable. Being that it is a microline shibata stylus it's a bit finicky to get setup. Unfortunately, the placement of the azimuth adjustment screw on the MoFi tonearm doesn't make it easy. A proper setup makes a world of difference however. One thing I've noticed however is your vinyl should be super clean using this. Because it's such a small stylus, it digs really deep into the grooves, and pulls tons of gunk out of albums that aren't cleaned well. I purchased some used vinyl from a local store and had magnifiers on while I was watching the needle track setting it up. I seriously watched gunk coming out of the grooves and up onto the cantelver as it played. That was after a quick wash with just some fluid and a velvet brush. Using a more thorough cleaning process on vintage and used vinyl seems to alleviate the issue. I've been using a Spin Clean which gets a little deeper in the gooves and washes them better. I'm running the AT33sa through a step up transformer using Newcomb transformers at 1:20 gain and around 125 ohm into a Rogue 99 preamp. The combination is perfect to my ear. For the price I think you would be hard pressed to find a better performing cartridge! Very happy and highly recommended!
