Works well, super customer service support!
I've been using this ink product for 6mths now. The ink itself is of great quality, and I love the product. I thought I would have issues with step up, as it didn't work the first time I installed, but on letting the company know they promptly sent me a replacement, which I set up much more easily 2nd time round. Since then our printer had a malfunction, and since wouldn't recognise the ink cartridges. Got back onto the support chat and fixed!! Before I had even run the Andrew suggested. This company really does have lightening customer service, and they are so pleasant and friendly to deal with! Highly recommend.

Great product and fantastic after sales care
These cartridges are brilliant value for money, work well, and arrived the next day as promised. There was a compatability issue with my HP printer, but Alex from Customer Services was superb and sorted it all out immediately for me. Overall a great product and fantastic after sales care. Would highly recommend!!

Easy to install, Excellent quality, Unbeatable value.
These are excellent! From the packaging, with information that is invaluable, through to the all important print quality these impress in every way. It is IMPERATIVE that you ensure the printers firmware is set at an earlier edition and that the printer is denied the option to auto update the same. If you do these two things then you'll have no problem getting the cartridges to install correctly and realistically priced printing on this machine is yours. As mentioned above the quality of print is excellent with clear and vibrant colours all in the XL size for longer lasting life. Unbeatable!

Great Quality, Price and Outstanding Customer Service
Great price, ink and print quality and by far the most exceptional customer service I have ever had. Perfect fit for my HP OfficeJet Pro 7720. I replaced my HP ink cartridges a few months ago and thought nothing more of it. HP then released an update which blocked the non-HP ink cartridges from being used (something I didn’t know was legal for them to do under competition laws…). I contacted Smart Ink online and spoke with Kevin on the online chat at about 2030hrs, he told me how to fix the issue, but I was unable to due to computing issues etc. when I told him that it still wasn’t working, he sent out a new box of ink cartridges which are compatible and working with my printer. I was also told how to turn off the automatic updates, which will prevent the ink cartridges from being blocked in the future. My new ink cartridges arrived at about 1100hrs the next day, the level of customer service throughout the experience was amazing. As a side note, I had issues turning the automatic updates on my HP printer off until I turned off ePrint, a function I have never ever used. After this was turned off, I was able to turn the automatic updates off.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer services, cartridges didn’t work to start with due to HP blocking the chips but they swiftly sent replacements within 24hrs that worked. I will always buy from here going forward.

FINAL UPDATE: No more chasing phantom ink problem. **Full refund provided. Great service. Fast response. Good by HP. Forever. UPDATE 2024-02-04: new 4pk carts from SmartInk (HP 7740) SUMMARY: Had it all working and printing... Then hours later, HP7740 got upset spouting every error it could muster! So inserted all SmartInk colours - all OK! Apart from one non-reading cartridge chip (to be confirmed) **** SmartInk LiveChat response - fast and brilliant! **** IMPORTANT: you will need a earlier firmware version!! And disable auto-update. Our printer has version: EDWINXPP1N002.1849A.00 (and is recommended by SmartInk). DETAILS: Had it printing OK after inserting a Magenta SmartInk HP953XL cartridge! However... This upset HP, as the next morning (with no printing activity), the 7740 complained about a different cartridge altogether!? Tried reinserting, power off, contacts cleaned, etc etc (as per online and SmartInk instructions!) All the various error messages listed and online appeared! Plus a new error: "This printer is not designed to use continuous ink systems. To resume printing, remove continuous ink system and install original HP (or compatible) cartridges." Learning point: may be don't mix non-HP brands?? Then, inserted all SmartInk colour catridges, keeping the HP Black. All SmartInk cartridges accepted! With the exception of the Magenta!? (yes, the one that worked for 8 magenta test pages). SmartInk suspect this was a non-readable/intermittent chip. LiveChat: responded in seconds, verified order etc. When through a few items, but I'd already completed those (and more). So Kevin agreed to ship replacements. Comment: HP have paid out $millions in out-of-court settlements for this (apparent) activity, which could be interpreted as blocking the use of non-HP ink! Dear HP, the "hate me less" ad compaign was hilarious! Just cut the ink prices to 30-40%, and we'd probably have stayed with HP. Goodbye HP. Just hope the replacement Magenta works! Since my firmware was already downgraded, and upgrades blocked, I decided to block the printer's access to the internet too (and WiFi off) - in case it's communicating that way (i.e. added a Firewall rule, using the printers (static!) IP address) ORIGINAL POST: Print quality is pretty good. A quality product it seems. NB: Only installed Magenta & printed 2 pages: so not a long-term score! Be prepared to bypass the HP 'rejection of non-HP ink' errors !!! eg "Incompatible ink error": this is HP's doing, not restricted to Smart Ink. Downgrade the firmware? Do this by finding a previous version of printer firmware (see online). There should be a previous version that does NOTt outrightly reject 'non-HP' ink cartridges! Install the firmware. Then... also disable the automatic firmware updating! See instructions supplied in Smart Ink box!!! NB: I had already done this 2-3 years ago, so as to use ink from Cartridge People (who guarantee compatibility btw, but is higher cost) Extra guidance: "System Supply Issue": this may be the ink-channel in the printhead running 'empty' or dry. Remove the printhead, remove cartridges. Ink will spread - cover areas etc etc. Inspect back of the cartridge slots within the printhead: small containers at back should have fluid, visible when tilted etc. Use a torch. If one ink slot is 'dry', insert the problem cartridge/colour. Have the printhead on its back. Allow gravity (and squeeze of the cartridge?) to get some ink back in the printhead. You may need to use Iso-alchohol spray to clean up. At your own risk. Refit the printhead in the printer. Power On: should align and clean printhead. Repeat this cycle until it prints the alignment test page. Print something to test the colours. Worked for me, but might not for you. At your own risk. Alternative for me, was a new printer (which WILL NEVER BE AN H-P AGAIN!)

Excellent value for money compared to HP and very clear instructions on how to deal with errors. Works great! Highly recommend Smart Ink and well done to them for creating an affordable alternative.
