I pretty much got tired of hearing people yelling from downstairs in my house like Neanderthals so I wanted a cheap and effective tool to talk to people from room to room efficiently. I even thought about getting a professional and permanent system installed, but I decided it wasn't that serious. These were way easy. All I had to do was literally just plug them up and just long press which number I want to assign to each room and its done. Also, long press the talk/call button so it go to auto answer (so the receiving end does not have to touch it to allow you to start talking). Easy peasy lemon squeasy. I have four bedrooms, so I put one in each room, then I put one downstairs next to the kitchen table and one in the upstairs family room and its all good. Now.....if we could just break the habit of yelling around the house then we would be all good. But the intercom system works great.

Works great, and set up couldn't be easier. I bought this to install a "plug-and-play" intercom system so I didn't have to yell at my kids from across the house anymore. It works exactly as I need it to. I started with just two, and bought two more for additional rooms - they all automatically connect as soon as you plug them in. I have them all linked so when you speak through one, it transmits through all of the others simultaneously, but you can program it to only transmit to a single unit at a time using a simple and easy channel system. (There are nine channel numbers, so my guess is that is the maximum number of units that can be linked together, but I haven't fact-checked that.) The sound quality on the transmission is great - clear and loud (which is great for children and the elderly). It has different settings where you can either transmit by holding a button down (like a walkie-talkie) or press an "on" button once that transmits continuously (like a telephone). What's more, all of this versatility is truly optional and not complicated. Like I said, you can just plug it in and it's ready to go, literally no set up required. They are built simple and compact, the size of a small book, are light-weight and their appearance doesn't stand out any more than any of our other electronic devices. The one possible down-side is that the material feels very light-weight, so it is possible that it might break easier than one would like. However, my kids have already (of course) thrown them around a bit and they held up fine. Also, even if they end up being more fragile than is ideal, they still are worth the very reasonable price.

good working product but we're still trying to get it working. Its a slow learning experience for an 88 yr old. Gets very frustrating. It could use step by step instructions. Other than that it appears to be well worth the money.

Wasn't expecting much for the price, but these turned out to be a pretty nice set of intercoms. Voices are clear, and the quality of the units is good. Each unit comes with it's own cord and power block, so I am very happy with that. We have a large house, so I ordered a set of 4, but you can get 2, 4, or 6 units and assign each one a station. Set-up was as easy as plugging each unit in and assigning each one a number by pressing that number on the keypad. Okay, I've read some poor reviews that I would like to address now. 1. These ARE Dual VOX. The trick is to assign each unit a number by pressing and holding a different number for each unit. When you talk, press the number of the unit you want to talk through, and then wait for someone to pick up. For example, if you are at station #1 and want to speak to someone at station #2, press the button with the "2" on it, and then wait for someone to press the "talk" button. You can then talk easily without pushing the talk button. 2. Voices are clear when speaking, but keep in mind that these are VOX units, and there is a slight delay when speaking, so wait a second before responding. 3. The "MONITORED" feature is NOT for having a conversation. Watch the video in the Amazon description for more information about other functions of these intercoms.

These are fantastic. Full duplex, hands free talking. For those reviews stating they are not full duplex, they are certainly mistaken and not using the correctly. These intercom units look nicer than so many other out there too. Crystal clear and they are perfect to put in my office, kids rooms, etc. so nobody needs to yell to communicate. Highly recommended, took no time at all to plum them in and start using them. Virtually 1 button to set them up and assign a different number to each unit. Better price than other 4-packs as well.

These just okay, but they are a bit annoying. The unit beeps every time you press a button, and there doesn't seem to be any way to turn it off. This is especially driving my wife crazy. I was also hoping to use them in duplex mode, but they are not full duplex as advertised. Full duplex means you can both listen and talk to each other at the same time. What these do is they activate the transmit mode when you speak loud enough, and then the other person can't talk at the same time. The problem is you have to talk in a pretty strong and loud voice in order for it to transmit. Even when she was sitting right by it, my wife talked in a normal voice, but it wasn't loud enough to make the unit transmit in the "duplex" mode. If you want to use these like an old-fashioned intercom by pressing the talk button, and don't mind getting beeped at, they should work pretty well.

Very easy to set up and use, clear audio, reasonably priced, low profile and unobtrusive unit, great customer service!

These units are not Full Duplex, they are Half Duplex with VOX. Both users cannot talk at the same time, If you attempt to talk while the other party is already talking then you will not be heard. One of the units I was using was in a loud environment and it stayed keyed up all the time. The 2nd unit could never talk to the 1st. I did follow the directions in the instructions and put the 1st unit on channel 1 and the 2nd on channel 2, pressed the #1 button from unit 2, the user on unit 1 pressed the answer button, VOX worked fine, but VOX isn't what it say on the package, it says FULL DUPLEX. So both users cannot talk at the same time. Changed the channel to 3, 4, 5 and 6 on the 2nd unit while unit 1 stayed on channel 1 and the results were the same. We then reversed the order and on unit 1 we changed the channels from 2 to 6 while unit 2 stayed on channel 1 with no difference. If you purchase these units knowing that they are Half Duplex with VOX then they are very good. They work as advertised and sound clear. NOTE: I only had the units about 30 ft from each other for testing purposes, they were transmitting through 3 walls with electric and WIFI all around them. The issue is that it says on the box that they are Full Duplex and they are not. Because one of the locations is in a room with a loud TV and a window unit that is a bit noisy then the compressor is active it stays keyed up all the time and the 2nd unit can never talk to it. So they will not work for my intended purposes. I am returning them.
