This is the first electric shaver I have ever used. I did a lot of research before ordering the Panasonic ARC5. I was very apprehensive and never thought that an electric shaver could give me a close shave like a regular/manual shaver. The first time I used it, I was blown away with the job it did. The user manual said that I should use foam or cream for at least 3 weeks with the shaver before I start the dry shave. My first shave was a dry shave and I could not believe how wonderful this shaver is. It gave me a close shave just like a regular shaver and at some spots on my neck it even surpassed the regular/manual shaver. One thing that I liked the most is that I did not get one single cut on my skin which happened every time with the manual shaver. It is an excellent product. Great job Panasonic!!

I have tried several electric razors in the past and never felt like I got a decent shave. I have been going back and forth with different reviews looking at this Arc 5 and the Braun Series 9 Pro. I don't shave often as I get irritation from the razor, maybe twice a week. I decided to get this one as it was on sale for Black Friday at $129. It says that it'll take 3-4 weeks for you beard to adjust to the razor, but from the first shave it was great. It looked just as good as a razor shave, except around the neck area. I'm sure I could have gone over it a few more times but was trying to avoid irritating my skin. I tested both wet and dry shaving. I actually prefer the dry shave. The razor is easy to clean and feels solid. I've only shaved twice but so far, very happy with it. Clean shave, no irritation, and product seems to be high quality. If I have any regrets in the future, I'll update my post.
