Asics Men's Gel-RENMA Pickleball Shoes

Great for Pickleball. Very comfortable and durable. Great fit to size and slip resistance.

I have tried a lot of shoes for Pickleball, and these are my favorite. The side is accurate, and the fit is great. I like the cushioning, and the break-in time was about 5 games.

I just started playing pickleball about three months ago but have only been using these shoes for about two weeks. I'm an athletic guy and have been around my fair share of shoes, from basketball to running all the way to rugby. They are a little stiff but they are slowly starting to break-in. It could be my feet but wearing thinner socks doesn't work well for me and "No show" socks are also not ideal since the shoes are a little stiff. The side of the shoe rubs against my ankle since the sock rides so low. Switching over to a thicker, higher sock gives me a better fit (my personal preference). I have small feet for a guy, usually wear a 9 (sometimes 8.5). I ended up getting an 8.5 because I didn't want my feet sliding around in the shoe. Having said that, I wish they were a bit wider. Maybe if I got a size 9 I would get that extra space, hard to say. Breaking them in more may help but if you have wide feet, I would not get these shoes. Overall they have good traction, little on the heavy side (that's ok) but they fit snug, are comfortable and do what I need them to do. +++++UPDATE AS OF 4/20/2023+++++ Had to drop my review down to a two star. For some reason these shoes are putting a lot a strain on my achilles but only on my right foot. Not sure what is going on. I thought I might have strained my achilles but when I switched to my Asics Gel Venture 8's the pain went away. I will got back and try the Renma's in the upcoming weeks to see if the pain comes back...that will give be a better idea if the shoe is really the problem. If so I will give another update. +++++UPDATE AS OF 7/19/2023+++++ After a couple more months I changed my review from two stars to four. Hard to tell if something was going on with my achilles because of the shoe or just my achilles in general. Either way the pain went away and these shoes are great. My one compliant is how narrow they are.

After a full week playing in the ASICS Gel-RENMA, I’m really impressed with how controlled they feel on an outdoor court. The outsole has excellent grip without feeling sticky, which makes it easier to stop cleanly and change direction without sliding out. I also noticed the shoe keeps a low, connected-to-the-court profile, which helps with balance and quick reaction shots. Break-in time was minimal. They felt playable after the first 4-5 hours of play time and got even more comfortable after the first couple of hours using the Game Day insoles. There's enough room in the toe box to move naturally without losing that locked-in feeling but if you like a lighter fit I'd recommend going maybe .5 size down. Even after multiple sessions this week, the shoes still feel secure and responsive. Overall, these are great if you want predictable traction, court feel, and dependable performance right from the first game.

My husband said they are the most comfortable asics he’s ever worn. I love the style and look. The tan colored sole adds a bit of classy style.

Sizing is off a bit...my husband usually wears 11.5 or 12, so I ordered 12 to be safe but it was too short/hitting his toes; overall fit was tight and had to return it because he couldn't use it as athletic wear because he would need to wear it for competitive purposes. Unfortunately , now there is no size 12.5 to order. He was disappointed because he loved the look of this Asics style/model and colors...

I use these shoes for pickleball and am loving them. Previously I was using running shoes to play, and I developed a lot of pain in my Achilles tendon and ankles. These Gel-RENMA shoes have good ankle support, and using them has greatly reduced that pain. The fit is snug enough to give proper support without making my toes feel constricted and cramped. The shoes feel neither light nor heavy; they are somewhere in the middle. I don't like chunky shoes, and I appreciate that the shoe shape is quite sleek. Update: Going on nearly 3 months now and my ankle issues are pretty much gone. I play 3-4 hours three times a week. The shoes are holding up well.

I'm very impressed with these shoes. I did not have to break them in. They are comfortable from day one and feel great on the court. Update: After three months, the tread underneath have wornout like bald tires. I play pickleball 3-4 times a week. A few weeks ago, I had a heel injury and chose to stuff another insole for more support as the shoe had loosened up. I am now looking for another brand to try, but if this model went on sale, I would probably buy it again.

Very comfortable with great grip on indoor courts . I play Pickelball 3or 4 times a week and gym floors are not always kept clean , but these still grip floor very well . Price is reasonable for the quality of these shoes

Excellent product, delivered as promised. Excellent mobility and comfort on hard court.

I use this pair of court shoes for badminton, they are great and feel comfortable while playing.
