Q: does it allow access to the usb connector for charging?

Yes! I just got the half case and am very impressed. It helps me hold the camera, plus protects it. The only thing covered without access is the speaker - bottom left as you use the XT-20.

Q: Does this give better grip to the fujifilm xt20

I find that it works pretty good, definitely better with than without.

Q: How long is the strap? And is the length adjustable?

Strap fell apart pretty quickly -- I do *not* recommend the strap's use. It is unfortunate
