Good Quality Matcha
The matcha is a vibrant green colour however it is a little clumpy compared to other matcha powers I bought in the past. It does not have a strong bitter taste. I would say it’s not the highest grade of matcha but it’s one of the better matcha in the market.

普段使いです。 オーガニックは良いのですが 香りが少し弱いと感じました。 コスパはあまり良いとは言えないかな~。

Out of all the matcha I tried, this is really the best so while I cringe at the price, it's worth it to me. A lot of the others have that strong grass smell which sort of colors my taste buds as I'm assuming grass won't taste good. This smells like green tea to me so I can drink it without my sense of smell dicating what I think it'll taste like. This is ceremonial grade so it's what is used in tea ceremonies and taste great with just water. That being said if you are looking for a matcha powder for green tea lattes only and you don't intend to drink it tradionally (with just water), save yourself the money and get a lower grade. You can still use this for green tea latte but it's a lot higher quality than you really need.

I try to stick to the spirit of matcha. It’s supposed to be a cheap tea, the cheapest you can find- and it’s supposed to be brewed with the closest care and consideration one is able to muster. Okakura kakuzo (the author of “The Book of Tea), definitely lived in a different time. A time when even the lowest cost manufacturers cared about the quality of their product. Cheap does not mean lacking in quality- and my terrible experiences with most other matcha’s on the market, lead me here. Much to the chagrin of my wallet, I purchased Matcha Moon based on accolades from “Samurai Matcha” on YouTube (a non-sponsored recommendation, from a beloved content creator) I have to say. I am thoroughly impressed. No bitterness AT ALL. Even when brewed a little too hot, or with a high powder/water ratio. This product is grassy, bright, and light. Not the “richest” of matcha’s, but certainly the most WELL BALANCED. I’m just gonna have to take the punch to my coin purse and call this a necessity. The larger quantity is a much better value than the 1oz one. I’ll try to stretch it.

This is the best matcha I have tried so far. I was not excited about the price at first, but I have had it for three weeks and it is still about half full. Therefore, I end up still saving a ton of money compared to ordering matcha lattes daily from any local coffee shops. This matcha has a naturally sweet flavor, it is not bitter at all. The matcha is bright green and super fresh. It has a lightly grassy, green tea flavor that you want with your matcha, but it is very mild and pleasant. The packaging keeps it very fresh as you can leave it in the tin, that comes with a plastic air-tight lid on the inside, and the tin lid on top. This protects it from sunlight as well as keeping a lot of air out. The matcha gives me a nice kick of energy but without the negative side effects caffeine can come with. I have really enjoyed drinking this matcha daily and will be buying this brand again. I like to make matcha lattes with this matcha using cashew milk. Simply soak 5-8 cashews in a cup and a half of water over night, then in the morning add 1/2-1 tsp. of matcha (to taste) with 1-2 tsp. of raw honey. Blend using a high power blender (I use the nutrabullet for a perfect single serving). Perfect! & you do not have to strain it because the cashews blend into milk without any residue. Much healthier than the coffee shop options! I definitely recommend this product.

I just recently fell in love with green tea lattes. I had my first one at Starbucks a month ago. I loved it more than coffee! I don't like sugar in my drinks, though. The latte I had was a little sweet. I also am used to drinking good Japanese senchas. So I decided to start making my own. I did a little research and purchased this product for several reasons: * I understood it was not bitter. * I wanted a high quality product to start with, so I would know what some of the best matchas taste like first. I probably won't be able to buy this expensive matcha for daily use, but I after having it I can shop for other matchas that I like for that purpose. * I wanted a Japanese tea. For many years, I haven't had a Chinese tea that I like. They all have a bitter tang on my tongue. * I wanted tea that was grown far from Fukushima. I made my first matcha at home from this tea. It was a little clumpy (I didn't do a good enough job of mixing and don't have a whisk yet) but the tea came out just fine. It was very delicious and smooth tasting. I got to the end and realized, I don't even want milk with this tea. I just want to drink this tea plain with water. It's that good. There was absolutely no bitterness. It was just a gentle flavor. So very lovely. I really am very pleased with this little tin of tea, yet was really surprised by the small amount of tea that you get. When you empty the tea (it is packaged in plastic) into the tin, it comes to about 3/4 full. It's a very very small amount for the price. This particular matcha will be saved for a treat. I have to say I feel quite nice after this wonderful tea.

After returning from Japan, I ordered several brands of ceremonial grade Japanese matcha to drink at home. When they arrived, I compared them side by side in a single-blind color comparison and taste test. I found the texture and color to be most pleasing: very fine with a more rich blue-green color than the others. In the taste test, Matcha Moon also came in first. The taste was full and somewhat sweet with very little bitterness. The amazing thing was that this was the Spring Zen matcha. Now I am very excited to try the top quality Pure Zen with more sweetness and without bitterness. If even the second grade version of this product beat the top grade of several other brands, I can't wait to taste the top grade!
