I love this little chopper! I've had it for several months and use it all the time. Salsa in an instant! Chop veggies to add to dishes, make sauces and salad dressing that are amazing. It saves a lot of time in the kitchen because you can prep faster. We gave the smaller version as a gift and I liked it so much that I bought this one for us. The 5 cup is a little bigger, but it's a great size. Love it! Lining up the lid is easy on ours. I was a little unsure from reading other reviews, but it really wasn't an issue at all for this one, so maybe they have improved that now.

I recently received this food processor and have already had the opportunity to use it several times. It's easy to use, cleans up in the dishwasher, and does a nice even job of chopping. I would like to address some of the complaints I've read here in the comments. First, the bowl and lid attach very similarly to all Kitchenaid food processors. I get that it might be different than how others work, and might be tricky if you aren't familiar with it, but one you understand how it works, it's easy. I've had no problems at all getting the bowl and lid to lock into place and to release. Remember -- don't force it! If it's difficult you're doing something slightly off. With regards to the complaints about sturdiness and quality -- no, this is the not same quality as my big Kitchenaid food processor that I bought in about 1985, (which still works, btw, but I can't get a new bowl!). However, I paid somewhere in the range of $350- $400 for that one back in 1985! So, no, I don't expect this food processor to be as heavy duty as the old one. Still, the motor runs smoothely, the base has some weight to it, and it works just fine! I don't expect it will last 40 years like the last one, but for the price, that's ok. I almost didn't buy this one based on some of the reviews. I'm glad I took the chance and tried it. It's a great little machine, works well, and doesn't take up too much room on my counter.

We replaced our 9 year old Cusinart immersion blender when it bit the dust with this. We really liked the immersion blender, but also wanted to try something new, since the immersion blender required a lot of hand holding (haha) and using it in larger cups/containers was too much work. We also have the much larger food processor and liked the design consistency. I like that its easy to clean, assemble and disassemble and makes quick work out of any fruit or veggie we throw in there. If you're putting a small amount, its more efficient to put a little water in there too so that the blades will catch. I now use this for also chopping lots of garlic and onions, in addition to chopping cooked vegetable dishes so that our kids can more easily eat them, like kale and big pieces of broccoli.
