I like the portability and the size of the item. It works for my netted fencing very well. When I first received Defense charger, the power adapter did not work but customer service fixed that issue right away and sent out a new power cord.

Zap! Awesome Fence Energizer!Makes a perfect electric fence for chickens! I love that this unit can be run from a 12V battery or 110V AC power. It was easy to hook up. There was a mounting stake included, the battery cable, the 110V adapter and some other hardware. It ended up taking so much less time than I thought it was going to take to protect our chickens. I think I will do one for the garden this year too.

I added this energizer to a small DIY-ed solar and battery setup and it's generally working pretty well. Used it with 200ft of 3-strand hog netting and it was adequate. If the pigs pushed debris onto it, it lost power really fast and drains the battery fast, but just checked daily.It's hanging with just a little piece of pressure-treated lumber over it, and has been running in all weather. The power plug and alligator clips are starting to corrode a small amount, but it is still working well.If this was at least a .5 joule, I'd be happier, and the indicator light could be brighter to verify function, but again, this is working OK. It might be really hard to keep poultry netting electrified w/ this because of how many conductive strands they have.

The electric fence charger is working. I had a concern and contacted the seller. The response was quick and satisfactory. I did not give it a rating about being waterproof, because I don't know if it is. We put a bucket over it to protect it from the weather.

Electric fence does not work. It will blink when it is not hooked up to the fence: however, when attached to the wire of about 240 feet the thing goes dead. The grounding pole is about 4 feet deep. The battery is reading 14.3 volts. The continuity from the ground to the charger is fine. The positive juice from the battery also reads 14.3 volts just short of the charger. You would think that I would learn. Crap made in China is nothing but pure junk!Not Happy
