No, if your differential calls for the additive, you have to add some anyways. This is the case with dodge differentials 8.25" and 9.25" in the rears with limited slip. The OEM manual should say to add it if its limited slip or has trak-lok. Excerpt from manual "Trac-lok™ equipped axles require a friction modifier be added to the lubricant."
