Product description Natures Root Organic Pea Shoots Sprouting Seeds Microgreens are veggie shoots grown from seed for 10 days in your window, clipped and eaten. These sassy little seedlings add a burst of intense flavors, vivid colors and crisp textures that transform any meal into a nutrient-packed gourmet experience. Crunchy, juicy texture and the same yummy taste as fresh peas. Perfect for sandwiches and on pasta, rice, and vegetable dishes! Try your pea shoots at different times while they’re growing – their flavor and texture is best when they’re about 3” tall. Health Benefits: High in fiber, beta carotene, folate, protein, vitamins A, B6, C, K and E, calcium, phosphorous, iron, potassium, magnesium, Thiamin, Niacin and the trace elements manganese, copper and chromium, plus high amounts of chlorophyll and living enzymes How to use: - Choose a high quality, nutrient dense potting soil or soilless medium for growing trays of shoots. Always use fresh soil when sowing new plantings. - Seeds grown for shoots should be only just covered with a sprinkling of soil, or covered with an inverted tray instead of soil to keep out light and keep in moisture until they germinate. Always soak seeds for 8-12 hours before sowing. - Sow seeds thickly in a plastic flat filled with potting soil or a soilless medium. Use ¼ cup of seed for a 5” square tray, 1 cup for a 10” square tray, and 1 ½ - 2 cups for a 10” x 20” tray. - Shoots grow best in an area that stays above 65°F in full sun. Conditions can be achieved by a heated indoor space and a grow light or sunny window. - To harvest, clip stems just above the soil line with clean scissors. Wash shoots and dry on clean towels or in a salad spinner. Harvest pea shoots when they are 2-4” tall, after the second set of leaves appear, about 10–14 days after planting. - Cleaned shoots can store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Poor gemination of recent pea seed purchases
This new and the previous batch of pea seeds have not germinated well at all. I have attached a photo of two peas which have sent down their roots but not sprouted. This is typical of atleast 10 - 15% of the seeds, while many other seeds have sent their roots out side ways before going down into the soil. These seeds are not as healthy looking, go brown, feel slimy and take a day more to germinate than all the prevoius pea seeds I have bought from Nature Roots, for about the last 6 months

Easy to grow, easy to cook
Close to 100% germination and very easy to grow. I allow these to grow for about 10 days to produce micro greens rather than sprouts. These seeds work very well under low power grow lights. I stir fry the shoots & serve drizzled with garlic butter - quick, easy & tasty.

Grows quickly and well
Made up my own cultivator from used plastic container and kitchen roll. Spread seeds on, watered with warm water each day and began to sprout within 3 days.

Great sprouting peas, useless seal bag
Great sprouting pea seeds. Very tasty and nutritious! I’m glad I purchased these seeds. No complaints on the seeds themselves however the seal on the bag was useless And didn’t close. I think better packaging will make this a 10 out of 10 experience. Unfortunately the bag let it down however the peas themselves were brilliant!

Gives a good crop
I give these to my pet birds, they grow into healthy microgreens and the peas produce a strong shoot which up to now I like the best. I use coir as a growing medium which works well.

looks easy to use
Cannot give a full review as yet ( item bought for a ‘stocking filler’ for my Veggie Daughter-in-law. It looks good and I do trust it will be just the job and will review again once it has been used.

Sprouting peas?
The first packet of these peas that I purchased were very successful germinated well and were very tasty. However when I opened this packet the peas were very yellow in colour and only 50% have germinated. Very disappointing!!!

Fabulous sprouting peas
Love this company - everything sprouts!! The peas are in the middle seive... I was testing to see how they sprouted before adding them to my main sprouts. I now throw them in with the chickpeas and adzuki beans as they take roughly the same time to sprout. My parrots adore them.
