These are not your usual Pop-Tarts. They're better. These have a ton of protein, around 22 grams of it. They have 24g of "carbohydrate", but roughly 9 of that is dietary fiber, 10g of erythritol (a sugar alcohol natural substance that has practically 0 calories), and 9g of total fat, 2 of which are saturated. They're 200 calories each. But they have a ton of actual nutrition, and less than a gram of what we think of as "sugar", which is table sugar, Sucrose. All of the flavors of these products, including the shown "S'mores" flavor, are good. Some of them are excellent, like the Double Chocolate and the Cinnamon Spice. This particular variety doesn't really taste a whole lot like a S'more. The icing is supposed to be marshmallow flavored, but is just sweet and tasty. The crust doesn't taste like a graham cracker very much, but it tastes good. The filling is chocolatey and sweet, but isn't like a melted square from a Hershey bar. All in all, this is their less impressive flavor, but it still is pretty darned good. And it has actual nutrition. A ton of protein, without tasting anything like your typical protein bar, which tastes too "healthy" without actually tasting GOOD. Some typical protein bars taste good, especially Clif bars, but to do that, they have to basically be cookies, with all the bad stuff we over indulge in, and get our bodies out of whack. These Legendary pastries do not do that. I've been eating a lot of their products lately, along with Zevia soda, and granulated erythritol in my coffee. And my biannual bloodwork just came in, giving me an A1C of 5.3. And I'm Type II diabetic. 2 years ago, my A1C was 10.1. So you do the math.

I have been gluten free for 15 years. This is a great treat that has a nice amount of protein as well. I have bought these multiple times. I have shared with friends and they have also started buying these as a great snack option.

Let's talk about Legendary keto pastries. I've been on a low carb diet for a couple years now and was looking for something quick I could eat for breakfast. It tried the chocolate, strawberry, blueberry, and cherry (this one). They're all ok. They're not pop-tarts, but they're ok. The cherry taste the best. Eventually I moved full keto and gave these up. They started tasting too sweet, and I couldn't justify the $30+ price tag on a box of 10 of them. They're just too expensive. In my mind they're a good transition snack into a keto diet or maybe an occasional snack. I don't recommend them as a daily meal replacement.

I am torn on these pastries, I got several flavors to try. They do cost a lot (look for a coupon) but can satisfy an urge. The flavors are actually pretty good. I wish I could put them in the toaster like a regular toaster pastry (PopTart). I do put them in the microwave for about 11 seconds to warm them up. They are a little smaller than I recall the regular ones are. As I said, they taste pretty good. But something in the formulation - I think it's the sweetener in the frosting - makes my tongue feel a little - weird! IDK how to describe it. I know it's not an allergy or anything like that. Just - weird. Mostly, I like them. May not purchase again though.

There are things to like about these and things to not like. I like the idea of having a toaster pastry with 22 grams of protein and no sugar. I like the cake-like texture and crumbles type frosting. I don't like the filling leaking out the ends. My wife and I both thought the flavor was chemically and not very cherry at all. Were I blindfolded, I would not have been able to identify the taste. Finally, these are almost $3.40 a pastry. Roll all that together and I find it an acceptable source of protein while working out in the yard, but at this price I will not be ordering more.
