The word "heavy-duty" can be translated to mean so stiff that it is hard to bend it and it will also remain the way it is bent if there is motion (I use on a motor vehicle). I wanted it stiff so for me it's good that way. Major possible problem is the set screw. It is so tiny (nearly microscopic) that it is useless for holding even an extremely small lightweight item. I 'Mickey Moused' it and attached my item to the end socket of Gooseneck with small vinyl clad clamps from hardware (4@$1.50 each). I also clamp it at the base end to a rod for mounting it. After 6 months I can report that I do not see any rust or corrosion. I DID give it a brief spray with normal paint before using and this did not interfere with the flexing.
