After some research into cheaper alternative lamps, I'm pleased that I paid a bit extra for this excellent Architect Desk Lamp. From opening the box to switching on took 2 minutes - everything clicked into place without the need for any tools. The metal base is reassuringly solid but has a footprint of just 220 mm x 140 mm and is flat, so you can put other items on top of it. It's an attractive addition to any desktop or work area - I use it when I'm checking photo prints. It has a pleasing and even spread of light, with a useful and accurate range of colour temperatures. I also like the way that the controls are all on a single bar at the front of the shade.

Bought this lamp for pencil sketching. It provides a good even light with minimal shadows, which was a bugbear with ordinary spot lamps. I found the preset 'work' lamp settings a bit bright so used a slightly lower setting. Haven't used a lot of the adjustments but they're there if need. Came well packed and straight forward to put together, just 3 clicks and it was done. Feels sturdy and well made.

Excellent quality, worth buying.

Expensive but a very good desk light. The angle and shape means its not in your eyes and the light adjustment means my eyes are comfortable all day while working. Just note the hight for your personal set up - it may be too short for some.

Excellent and sturdy desk lamp, the color temperature adjustability and dimming make this great for multiple desktop activities

The light put out by this unit is excellent, and the range of colour very useful indeed for different times of the day. I would like to point out two issues which may or may not be a problem for you: 1. The vertical arm from the clamp to the elbow is not articulating. The upper arm overhangs the elbow by a couple of inches, so if your desk is against the wall, this will be a problem. You need to have the desk edge about 2.5" (7.5cm) away from the wall to avoid interference. 2. The picture with the two monitors gives the impression the lamp is well above the top of the monitors. Those monitors in the picture must be small - 14" - 16". If you use a big monitor, you will find the light is very close to the top of the monitor, and possibly interferes with a monitor supported camera. Moving the light higher, also moves it back relative to your seating position, which may not be ideal. I have given the light a 5-star rating, because if these issues are not a problem for you, I recommend the light very much.

Brilliant lamp. My daughter who is an undergraduate medical student really loves it as it is easy for her eyes and the long hours she needs to study.

Works exactly as expected. Bright, unstepped dimmable, with different Kelvin adjustments. Also, love the timer! I bought this to use as my piano as my old eyes need lots of light. Also doubles as my quilting retreat light.

This is a sleek and solid lamp with a fairly sturdy clamp. I bought it to illuminate a puzzle tray and quite like the versatility (different angles of adjustability, warm light vs cool light) that it provides. It is a nice size and a great complement to a work area. Having the clamp on feature certainly minimizes the real estate that it occupies. Definitely recommend.
