Versatile strimmer. Excellent customer service.
I had never come across this make before but chose the WeeLun strimmer because it is advertised as a lightweight strimmer that takes metal blades and is capable of mowing small patches of grass. There are other strimmers that have similar functions but often ones that take blades are classed as brush cutters and tend to be petrol powered, a lot heavier and significantly more expensive. The box contained parts of the main strimmer, multiple metal and plastic blades, pre-cut strimmer line, assembly tools (hex wrench and screw driver), charger, push stand (slides/skids) and battery. I ordered the combination that included two 4.0AH batteries. This strimmer can be used in many other ways than a conventional strimmer for example on its side to cut edges guided by a wheel, as a metal blade brush cutter and using the slider attachments as a mower for small patches of grass. My requirements included using it to mow a slope in my garden and to have the capability to clear undergrowth too rough for a normal strimmer. This is a sophisticated piece of equipment with many functions such that people will use it in different ways. I will not attempt a comprehensive review but I will highlight a couple of issues of interest. When compared with other cordless multifunction strimmer/brush cutters the WeeLun strimmer uses an M8 drive whereas many others in a similar price range use M5. This suggests to me that the attachments fitting the drive are more robust on this strimmer. The strimmer is supplied with plastic blades which are 180mm long and metal blades which are 160mm long. If the flying plastic blades or strimmer cable lengths are used a cutter head has to be fitted. Having the cutter head in place has the effect of lowering the cut. The strimmer is supplied with a pair of skids. The closest cut possible using these skids is about 75mm. I tried cutting the grass using the metal blades as recommended but the 75mm high cut was ineffectual. I therefore fitted the cutter head and flying plastic blades to lower the cut and found this worked reasonably well. When I checked with the website description I could see that the skids supplied to me were not the same as pictured. It looked as if the skids pictured would allow a lower cut. I contacted the supplier and explained the issue. They responded very quickly and said they would send me a set of skids with the previous design. The supplier indicated that using the lower design meant I had to be careful adjusting the cutting height to make sure the cutter did not foul the ground. There are various changes in design of the second set of skids I received the most important one is that the second set do not have an additional plastic reinforcing section which stops the skid being pushed in fully. This allows the replacement skid to sit 2 cm lower. The lower skid results in a good quality cut using the metal blades as recommended for mowing grass. My experience also shows how helpful the supplier was in dealing with a problem. I imagine the same result could be achieved by removing the extra plastic yourself although it might risk the warranty.I had selected a lightweight strimmer of this nature because I wanted to use it on sections of a hedge that are impossible to reach with a hedge trimmer. It has worked very well for this but one of the trade offs is that its power does not match heavier strimmers. Overall I am happy with the strimmer and would order again..

Using the right blade, to do the right job
Before buying looked at others without wheels, but you will have to balance it when cutting. Others with wheels which sometimes the wheel will drop off, and gets lost when cutting the garden. Saw this with blades which hadn't seen before so said will try, as you just glide when cutting or can use without. Wide range of blades to also use, and can do a lot more other things if needed. Was easy to install, but suggest reading Instructions before use. Due to weather garden grew out of hand, with large weeds going very high. Installed machine with correct blade suggested from book, and put the ski blade part on machine. Normally with other machines would take 3 to 4 efforts, and then problem of battery running low so will have to recharge due to size of garden. With this ended up doing whole garden within one go, as my intentions was just to try doing a bit to try it. My neighbour even had to ask when did I clear my garden, as her son said that he even saw me using it with one hand as was so easy to use. Great buy would recommend, as does the job with no hassle. Still had power in the battery after, as only charged for about 20 minutes before it was fully charged. Nice weight and easy to use with the ski blades, now doing the garden no longer a problem. 👌 Rated 4 stars as have only used one blade so far, but would probably rate as 5 just haven't used all the different blades yet. Very happy with outcome, as you can cut and still have time your enjoy your garden

Great accessories for my strimmer.
Not a very exciting purchase, but has been really useful to upgrade the blades in the strimmer. The strimmer came with a number of the fixed double bladed attachments (like those on the bottom two rows of the main picture). My experience with these was that the wore out and/or broke very quickly. When I received this pack, I replaced them on the strimmer with the mounting plate (bottom right), and two of the single-edged blades that you can see at the top of the picture. These are way more useful and practical. Because the are floating, and can swivel on the mounting point, the are much less likely to break, and are therefore much less likely to break. They are also much better at strimming, and give a better result. I bought these about 3/4 months ago, and apart from the first set, I haven' had to replace the blades yet. Very happy

A great tool
We bought this to replace a petrol driven strimmer which was too heavy for my wife to use. This item has been a great success. It is reasonably light and easy to use. The batteries charge quickly and by the time both need recharging we have had more than enough strimming. She uses the steel blade rather than the plastic strimmers and the blade is easy to sharpen. Recommended.

Not all it's cracked up to be
I bought this to replace an older one which was half the price. Whilst the use of individual cutters is a huge benefit over supposedly self feeding replacement systems this is under-powered and easily fouled by longer grass. I find I need to reduce long grass rather than attack it from the bottom. I've not tried the branch attachment as I simply think the power wouldn't cope. It's ok, but not great

Cheap and a real shame.
Unfortunately the screw that holds the blades broke after the first tighten. Unfortunately again I didn't use it until after thr return window! So I now have a completely useless strimmer that I never got to use even once.
