It's a crime what I paid for this little thing, but I wanted a general sewing/patch kit that I could use for a lot of different things, and this is the best little kit I've found. It lives in my vest pocket. It's literally some duct tape, a needle and some thread, in about as compact of a package as you can find. It's an upholstery needle, and even if it's a little large, it's easy to thread, and you can use the spool of thread as a thimble. It's an extremely well though-out kit, and it's well-made. I just wish it was a little less expensive.

Face it, its all in one place! That's what I tell myself. Did I actually want to pay the price tag associated with this product, not really. Truth is, and im going to generalize this to the masses. You probably have duct tape, some testline, paracord and a needle laying around in your tool box, work shop or possibly in your trunk. Do you need this orange gadget ( orange was my preferred color), No, but do you want it? Yes! You do, for all of the right reasons, because it 1.consolidates all these different types of essentials and it packs it all into a 2. bic (lighter) size, gizmo called the ripspool! The name is actually fun to say because there's a cool factor associated with it! Admit it, the ripspool is a cool tool and it 3. lightens the load and its easy to carry and use, you simply can't beat the 4. practical functionality of it and its 5. multiple applications. Whether your Camping, going on a day hike, or simply going fishing. Chances are the ripspool could come in handy. 6. Its an investment, I would personally rather have it with me, than need it, and not have it. This tool will eventually pay itself off. Hope this helps, I was not endorsed or paid for my review. Great repair kit for the outdoors. Repair tape and a sail needle and thread in a cool Keychain.

I posted a vid review too, hopefully they push it through. A cool little item, very basic but definitely gonna come in handy. Lest we forget, duct tape is first aid too. I also look forward to dropping a baited hook into some otherwise inaccessible spots. It's a bit expensive, realistically but it is made in the U.S. and I bet the price will drop soon enough. Well worth it in my opinion

High Vis. Orange Duct tape with reflective strands would be perfect for this Orange (oddly described as "black" in Amazon description but the metal pictured was Orange) version. This coloration would make for great visibility in reinforcing ponchos/tarps used as shelters in survival situations as well as using "bread tie" sized strips to mark ones route when off trail in case of tracking game or having to hike further when lost or injured. Yes, its expensive for basically duct tape roll with a needle holder...but its very well made; and your great great grandkids may be using it someday on Mars, so put the cost in that perspective! There is more room for needles/folded over trap wire in the center; and one could put hooks under the outermost roll of Duct tape then roll fishing line over the duct tape to further extend its usefulness! ExoTac-offer a Black/Black tape, a Orange/Orange w. reflective strand tape; and a Grey/Grey version to make life simple and for customers to know what they are getting, please.

Tape, needle and thread because you never know! Makes it easy to carry them all-in-one as well! High quality and very sharp needle! Space to keep more needles but not much. If you replace the tape with Gorilla tape it probably wouldn't hold as much because the original tape is so thin. It would be nice if the needle was able to be tightened down to use with a awl needle. I could see it working as a fishing reel Worth the money

My EDC is improved greatly, this item makes field repairs easily. The EXOTAC ripSPOOL has duck tape, heavy thread, sail needle and room for safety pins.

If you're looking to have a compact but versatile gear repair kit for some kind bag or kit then this is what you want to go for. The sailing needle does exactly what it's supposed to and the tape is some of the best quality tape I personally have used.

Great gadget, strong thread, but I would love to have some refill capabilities (extra thread, extra tape). High quality, highly recommend as backup for travel!

Purchased this item for inclusion in an EDC kit. It includes about 1.3 metres of 50 mm wide cloth tape, and a sewing needle and suitably strong thread, all contained in a compact storage unit. It is great for the intended use. Would make an excellent hiking or camping accessory. Highly recommended.

The construction itself is pretty good but the rope cant hold to the body properly just don't take the plastic wrap of the cord If you don't use IT but still pretty cool
