Yes it replaces the flip style!
Works as advertised. Ordered this to replace the stupid flip style one in my Fibre Metal hard hat. Put a ChukStar leather liner on it and it's good to go.

I only use fibermetal hardhats any parts I need I buy them from Amazon

I was so upset when my webbing broke on my hard hat and then I could not find a replacement I was super happy to find this and it fits perfect and I could not be happier.

Pretty similar to the one that comes with the hard hat. Only differences I see are that the click wheel doesn't say fibremetal on it and it doesnt have the audible *click* noise as you adjust it. Just feels less refined when adjusting with the wheel but it works fine so far.
