This medicine is a MIRACLE for my lab!
We started having skin issues with my lab two years ago, when she was only 8 months old. She would scratch so much she was bleeding, and we've had to bring her into the vet countless times for antibiotic and topicals. We've tried medicated baths (which help, but not entirely!), prednisone (which made her gain over 20 lbs in a very short amount of time!), topical creams and sprays, wipes that were medicated, and even allergy shots once we got to the point of figuring out she was allergic to dust, dust mites, mold, certain types of trees etc. NONE OF THAT WORKED! Not even the allergy shots. We've spent THOUSANDS in medical bills for her. Willingly, because we wanted to figure out something that worked so that she could finally have some relief. It just never came. So, I wish I had thought of this sooner, but I decided to start looking into something we could try on our own... without expensive vet visits, because clearly that was not working! Today marks one week of everything I implemented and she is doing so great I can't even believe it! Her skin finally isn't red, and raw anymore- and hardly anymore itching!! So here's what I've been doing. I purchased organic coconut oil capsules and started giving her one a day which helps with the skin coat. I started giving her these vets best supplements everyday (she gets two capsules twice per day, per the weight chart on the back of the bottle). and I also started using Sulfodene First Aid Skin Medication for Dogs and Sulfodene Brand 3-Way Ointment for Dogs. Okay, so the Sulfodene products applied twice per day cleared up her "owwies" within 4 days and that's saying something because not even the Rx medications did!! And they are inexpensive, so give them a shot!! And these vets best supplements are helping with the itching and preventing NEW spots from occurring. She isn't even itching at all! And she used to keep us up at night with the constant licking at her paws and scratching! Her hair is even starting to grow back! Amazing, amazing product. So glad I decided to give it a shot! I had figured at this point, what's another bottle of medicine wasted (if it didn't work!), but based on the reviews I gave it a shot. SO GLAD I DID!!! I will put up pictures of the back of the bottle that lists ingredients in each capsule. GOOGLE THEM! I did... and these ingredients really do work! Okay, now I'm rambling, but just had to write a review... my lab is finally herself again after two years!! :D Also, I should mention that I have no problem giving these to my lab. She eats them right up. And that surprised me, I used to have to give her antibiotics in peanut butter or she wouldn't take them! :)

No more itchy skin problems!
Bought this for my Golden Retriever who suffers from bad summer seasonal allergies. He breaks out in hot spots and the vet would give him a cortisone shot and medicated shampoo. It didn't do much and would usually worsen to the point he got infections and had to be on antibiotics for a month. Saw the Vet's Best Hot Spot Relief spray in Petco and bought it hoping it would help my poor guy. I chose Vet's Best because it was the only all natural product on the shelf. My boy had relief instantly! I went on their website and saw these pills and decided to buy them as well. It does take about 2 weeks or more to notice any change. His hot spots turned a crusty brown/green color and started drying up when I paired the hot spot spray with these seasonal allergy pills. He loves eating these every morning. They're his pre-breakfast treat and he gobbles them up no problem. I also bathe him in a oatmeal and baking soda shampoo from PetSmart. It's their brand shampoo, very cheap and works great. I bought the Vet's Best hot spot relief shampoo and it didn't do anything besides make him smell really good. The oatmeal and baking soda shampoo calms his skin and leaves him smelling great. I recommend bathing your fur baby every 10 days in oatmeal along with these pills and the hot spot spray. It's safe to bathe your dog frequently with the oatmeal shampoo and it helps wash away any pollen, rag weed, allergens trapped in their fur causing them discomfort/itchy skin. Will these products make the problem go away entirely? Of course not, it's meant to TREAT the symptoms and make it more tolerable for your pet. It's their version of Clariten or Zyrtek. Allergies can't be cured, but they can be treated and this product definitely does an AMAZING job at doing that. Than you Vet's Best!!!!!

Dog loves the taste, and his itching is subsiding...
I'm hesitantly hopeful these tablets are a good fit for my dog. I've got a 80lb pit-rottie mix that has been suffering from quite a stubborn allergic reaction for about a year now. We've tried sprays, which are a temporary fix (and my dog is scared of spray bottles...even though we never used them as "punishment"...he's scared of a lot of things...). The vet is stumped and just keeps prescribing expensive pills which only temporarily fix the problem. We're working on diet and environmental factors too, and unfortunately, I think he might be allergic to foliage. We live in a jungle so there's not much we can do about that (we're not going to lock him inside for the rest of his life). Anyway, we decided to give these herbal pills a go. So far so good! My dog LOVES the taste of these pills. I keep them by his treat jar so he associates them with being a good thing to eat. He starts drooling as soon as I open the bottle (so if your dog is a bottle-snatcher, you might want to hide or put in high place to prevent accidental overdose). We give him a pill in the morning, and one at night per the weight instructions. I was a little concerned when he threw up a couple times on the third day of taking the tablets, but it might have been from handouts at a BBQ we went to as well (he's got a sensitive stomach). We kept up the tablet routine, and haven't had a problem since. He doesn't seem to be as itchy anymore, the red patches are calming down (except on his paws...still need to work on that), and he looks forward to his allergy "treat" time. I'm going to continue to use these in conjunction with the shampoos and sprays just to cover our bases. I'll update after a month or so of use. Maybe we'll try lowering the does after a while if he shows continued improvement.

Horrible taste.
I have a pug. Pugs eat anything. Mine would not take this pill. I broke it in half and tried hiding it, but he hated the taste so bad and would immediately spit it out. This brand usually has great products, but this one just didn’t work at all. I ended up ordering a different brand with flavor to it.

Perfect Solution for my Itchy Dog
These actually work! My little 12.5# dog was scratching constantly and licking her paws. I tried other allergy tablets , and didn't have any effect. So, I tried these. The first day I gave her 1/2 tablet twice a day, which is the recommended dosage for her weight . I noticed almost instantly that she quit scratching as much. I've only been giving her a half tablet once a day and it still seems to be working just as well. No adverse effects at all. She still has lots of energy, and rarely scratches now. What a godsend! I spent $90 for an allergy shot for her and just couldn't afford to do that every 3 months. These are working perfectly.

Not a vet but I am a Registered nurse and do not reccomend!!
First this in my fiancé’s account but I’m making the review. I am not a vet or have any medical information regarding dogs but I am a registered nurse that works bedside in a ICU/stepdown ICU environment and also a current nurse practitioner student and I DO NOT RECCOMEND! My fiancé and I have two dogs, our female chocolate lab Bella and our male golden retriever Cooper. We got these for our chocolate lab who has been having seasonal allergies recently with a underbelly rash. She’s never been sensitive to food or medications but ended up with acute pancreatitis and colitis triggered by this medication. I will list her symptoms and health history Info below for reference because although she is mostly in good health she has had her fair share of vet visits and I want to provide full transparency of my pet. Bella is a 4 year old female 85lb chocolate lab Spayed No known food or drug allergies Fully up to date on vaccines and microchipped Hx: fecal worms when brought home as a puppy, UTI and dehydration in 2017 requiring a fluid bolus, itching and hair loss 2018, overweight with normal thyroid labs and normal routine labs, itching and rash fall 2020 requiring steroid shot and medication and UTI in 2020. Issues: She started to itch and have the rash that was recently treated again so my fiancé gave her the dosage for her weight as instructed for one full day which was this past Monday. Tuesday she started having constant foul smelling sulpher rotten egg gas despite no other changes environmentally, food, no new anything other than this and always supervised between myself, fiancé, or our cameras. She then by Tuesday night vomited for the first time. Did not think much of it and monitored her stools to make sure they were of normal consistency and they were at the time and encouraged hydration. Then Overnight into Wednesday was consistently vomiting and needing to go out every few hours and had lack of appetite but was still drinking and stools were still consistent so continued to monitor. Thursday she continued to vomit and our golden also did vomit so we were concerned perhaps they did get into something or maybe their water was contaminated so deep cleaned everything. She had no appetite only eating a bland food meal of rice and boiled ground beef. She began to have diarrhea. The vets were closed and hoped they’d be open on the 1st so we stuck it out and seeked out online vet service Friday when not open and our ER vet had a minimum 7hr wait and advised to continue what we were doing and reccomended unflavored pedialyte. OTC antacid Pepcid and otc anti-diarrheal. They’ll meds helped control the nausea but continued to be lethargic and would not take after the initial dose even in pill pocket treats or peanut butter and she is very food motivated since she’s been on a diet. We took her temp and no fever at the time but her ears were very warm. By Friday night she was having bloody stools unable to control it and leaking all over the house. If you have ever smelled a GI bleed or in medical field you just know by the smell. She also had extremely loud churning bowel sounds and she trembled like she was in pain when it was happening. We ended up waiting hours to get her seen since I didn’t feel comfortable waiting until Monday for her vet appt and we also have a 3.5 golden retriever and wanted to make sure it wasn’t contagious but our golden has been fine and he never recieved the product and still acting normal. Anyways we get to the vet with Bella and the fecal sample. Get a call within an hour and told she has pancreatitis and now running a fever. Luckily I can help out with her but I am now giving her fluid blouses at home! Along with antibiotics for colitis that also was sparked and a anti-diarrheal paste to help her intestines heal, and she also received a anti-nausea shot that’s good for 24 hours. We have to see how she does until Monday if she gets worse or does not improve we need to go in for more lab work and go from their. As a medical professional I would stay away from this if your pet has a known history of GI upset or if any medical history no matter how little or complex talk with your vet first or see what they would reccomend. If you do choose to use this product please do so with caution as you never know how a medication or new product will effect your pet and monitor after giving. Follow the dosage instructions and give with food. My bad review will be solely as dog parent who is sad about the outcome and would like to educate of what happened in our circumstance and won’t be using for either dog in the future. But as a medical professional just letting you know that we understand these things can happen with anything new depending on your pet. I hope your pets stay healthy and don’t suffer from any complications if you do use this product as there are some good reviews here and that’s why we decided to try it.

Godsend for Canine Atopic Dermatitis
Amazing product for our dog with canine atopic dermatitis (CAD). Our almost 4 year old dog developed CAD this year and it has been awful. She had non-healing sores/scabs on her face, back, legs for over a month, starting wih pollen season. She would scratch at her skin until the top epithelial layer was completely denuded. Her naturally light pink skin was hot pink, angry, and warm. She could not sleep (and neither would I) as she scratched vigorously all night. Poor thing was so miserable and I wanted to cry for her. Benadryl twice daily provided some relief (claritin did nothing), but she still had inflamed skin and would have some scratching at night. The sores did not heal and skin was still very red. We changed her to a fish based, minimal ingredient diet. No change. I did not want to go down the road of extensive allergy testing, chronic steroids, or immunosuppression that many other owners have traveled. I finally came upon a veterinary segment of the Dr. Mercola (holistic medicine) website that discussed CAD. Quercetin was pronounced "Nature's Benadryl". Coudn't hurt. I found this formulation for dogs on Amazon and like a another reviewer, purchased the Seasonal Allergy Support along with the Shed & Itch. Holy cow. The first night I gave it to her, she slept like a log with no scratching. It has been almost 3 weeks now (still with benadryl), but her sores are healing, the skin is now a normal color, and her fur is growing back over the previous areas of inflammation. I will start cutting back on the benadryl to once daily at night, and if no more issues, will stop that completely and only give her these Vet's Best products. With 1 out of 6 dogs suffering from CAD, this is certainly an EFFECTIVE alternative to traditional pharmaceuticals. ****Please make sure that your dog truly has allergies and not another skin condition before treating as CAD. They must always be free of fleas first and many urban areas have fleas that are resistant to certain topicals. Our dogs are on comfortis which works well in Houston. UPDATE: It has been over 4 months since starting this. If we lapse in the dosing even for a couple days, a slight rash will start up on her belly. Will continue with this indefinitely and make sure to have 2 bottles on hand as we do not want to run out.

This combination helps my dog's allergies
I can't be sure because I have been giving my dog 3 different supplements for her allergies, and I've also changed the food that she eats and the shampoo that I use. I also have treats that I feed her twice a day for skin/coat. So far the combination is working miracles. My boxer was on a cyclosporin, which is a liquid and cost me $73/month. I had to put it into a syringe and force it on her to make her take it. I tried every flavor but she still hated it- who can blame her? If I skipped one day she would have an outbreak and it was rough watching her spend most of her days scratching her skin to the point that you can marks all over her body. She was bald around both ears where she scratched her hair off. She also gets ear infections very often- I am still working on finding her some relief in that area. Since using these supplements (I give her one pure omega 3 fish oil capsule every morning, 2 Vet's Best Healthy Coat, and 1 Vet's Best Seasonal Allergies supplement twice per day, she also gets 2 Healthy Skin/Coat treats twice per day) she has improved 95%! She still scratches occasionally, but not nearly as often. She doesn't have the red marks all over her stomach/neck, and she just seems much happier. Her hair is very thick and soft. I also try to bathe her more often now, using Vet's Best Hot Shot Shampoo, which helps rid her body of whatever it is that she's allergic to. For now I am enjoying having her healthy and happy, but I do intend eventually to find out which supplement is actually the one that helps her the most. I am hoping it is the treats since they're the easiest to give and easiest to purchase since Amazon allows a subscription to these treats.
