I’ve had my fair share of cooktops, and this Samsung 36” Black Stainless Steel Smoothtop is easily one of my favorites. First off, it just looks stunning—sleek black stainless steel that gives my kitchen a high-end feel without screaming “look at me!” Performance-wise, this thing heats up fast and delivers even cooking, whether I’m searing, simmering, or just trying not to burn pancakes. The touch controls are super responsive, though there was a bit of a learning curve at first (just tap lightly, no need to press like it owes you money). One of the best parts? Cleaning is a breeze. No grates, no knobs—just a smooth surface that wipes down easily. As long as you use the right cleaner, it stays looking brand new. Overall, it’s a gorgeous, powerful cooktop that makes cooking easier and keeps my kitchen looking sharp. Would absolutely buy again!

I really like this stovetop. It heats so much faster than my previous radiant stovetop. I like that it has knobs, because my previous stovetop had touch controls that beeped at me if I set something on them or just cleaned over them. I am really sad that the rubber trim on one corner was pulled off in shipping. I probably should have returned it, but the old stovetop was gone, and the electrician was here to install the new one, so I didn't. We were afraid of breaking the glass top if we tried to put the rubber trim back over the corner. Because the rubber trim is pulled down below the glass on that one corner, the stovetop does not sit flat on the counter on either side of that corner. It's not very noticeable to a casual observer, but it's what I see every time I look at it. In the picture they are holding the stovetop upside down before installation.

I have never written a bad review but here I am. I was really hoping this was a good product but 4 months in the glass top cracked and although it’s still under manufacturers warranty it looks like it’s going to leave me about a month without a stove. Samsung sent a repair tech out who verified it was a product defect. Glass broke due to heat?? Instead of just replacing the unit. They want to order new glass and use the same bottom? Ok. This is a glass top cooktop. The repair person tried to tell them the unit needs to be replaced. Samsungs “policy” is to repair not replace regardless of how long that takes so here we are without the ability to cook till then. This is really unacceptable. I expect better and maybe Amazon needs to screen their suppliers/manufacturers better on repair issues and customer service. SMH. To think I have been replacing all my appliances with Samsung.

Went In smoothly, And looks good, quite an improvement from the old coil cooktop!

How does this "qualify" as a smooth top cooktop? Clearly has 5 knobs (which I prefer) but apparently some reviews are for a different model which talks about the clean smooth (i.e. no knobs) surface. Confusing and misleading...
