This set is incredible. If you have ever priced LEGO motors, then you will know how brutally expensive they are. While this set is not as high quality as the LEGO motors, it is still a great quality set that is fully compatible with the name branded bricks and is very economically priced. My two favourite things about this set, is the smaller battery power pack which takes 6, AAA instead of the usual 6, AA batteries and the “old school” car body motor. The power pack being smaller, allows you to integrate the motor into your builds a little easier by taking up way less real estate in your build. The black bodied motor is the way the original LEGO motors used to be and it is a simple system that you just attach your wheels, add your power and go. The entire unit is both front and rear wheel motors. I love the old style. The set comes with 3 different sized motors for your other builds and each one works extremely well with, or without the remote. The remote is very responsive and works seamlessly with the receiver unit. Both the controller and the receiver both have the ability to be addressed so that when multiple controllers are used in the same area, there is no interference between them. All in all, this is a very economical set that will bring a whole new dimension to your brick builds.

I used this kit to motorise a technic car and a train set, neither of which came with power functions in their default set. These pieces fit in with the other bricks fine and seemed identical in terms of use. I initially found using them a little challenging but then I saw there was a QR link to the instructions (I highly recommend reading the instructions!). Overall this a good collection of power function motors that will allow you to add movement to several brick models.
