Works perfectly!
We have a door that wouldn't stay fully open, and purchased this magnetic doorstop. It was quickly installed and is working perfectly! The magnet is strong but not overly so to the extent that other reviewers have mentioned - with just a little tug the door can be closed normally. The pieces have a quality heavy feeling and have a stainless look (as opposed to brushed nickel.) Without reading the instructions, my usually mechanically-inclined husband was briefly stumped on how to separate the parts of each piece to affix them to the baseboard and door with the provided screws - the simple (and obvious, now!) answer is that the two parts are screwed together, in case anyone else runs into this. Overall an inexpensive and easy fix to a minor irritation that we're so glad to be done with.

They are strong. Good for my application, but maybe not for all.
I live in an apartment where the front door is a fire-rated door. That means it's heavy, and it has an automatic spring-closer that will make sure the door closes once you let go of it. The spring tension on this kind of door is too much for many magnetic door catches (I know because several others didn't work, just would not hold hard enough to keep the door open). These catches work perfectly in this application. Sure, you may need to tug on them a little to get them to release, but in this case that'sbetter than the alternative. So, how can more holding-force be a bad thing? Well, when I used one on a regular interior door, attaching one end of the catch to the wall using the dry-wall anchors provided, I had to tug so hard to release the door that I ended up almost pulling the catch out of the dry-wall. Bummer. I fixed the above by screwing the wall-side anchor into a wooden baseboard and that was stronger than the drywall. It works well for inside doors, when a baseboard is available. It solved my real problem, because it has a very strong magnet, but for other applciations I might look for something with a little less oomph on the magnet.

Strong magnet and easy to install
Very easy to install, looks great, and the magnetic hold is really strong. Excellent product — sturdy and stylish!

Nicer than other Amazon stoppers, came open and used.
Good quality, base plate does not stick out. My only issue is that Amazon sent me a used set. Luckily it had all the pieces. Amazon prime ships about half of my home improvement goods used. They currently have a major issue with this. Would recommend just check for all the pieces before starting any projects using anything from Amazon.

Works great with some modification!
I really like it because it stays open close to the wall. It was extremely hard to release the magnet, it would not close with the door handle, you had to grab the door and tug! We ended up putting two pieces of package tape on the wall side, you don’t even see it and it closes easily now, but remains open. Does the job!

Love them!
I was looking for a low profile 2 inch magnetic door stop. Two doors don't stay fully open and in narrow doorways you can hit your arm on the door handle. Not now. Really quick to install if you're handy. I'd recommend them. They secure the door with adequate strength but you can easily close the door too. You can't slam the door, you have to steadily press the door to meet the magnet pieces. Price was good for two pieces, competitively priced. Came with all the pieces I needed - I drilled straight into wooden baseboards and doors. Really quick to install if you're handy. How I achieved perfect alignment of the pieces: once you secure the non-magnetic side to the wall (or floor), place the magnetic side on it with the metal disc almost-totally unscrewed. Place double sided sticky tape on the disc. Now bring the door towards the disc almost touching. Look at the side profile and adjust as necessary to make sure the flatness of the door and flatness of the disc are parallel. Then press the door on the tape. Fully unscrew the magnetic piece from the disc. Now you can perfectly mark, screw and secure the disc to the door (or wall, whichever way round you decide). Screw everything together and you should get perfect aligned magnet to steel.

Good product
These things work very well. It is important you measure where you plan on putting them. If they are too short the two parts wont make contact and the door wont hold open. We had doors that were slamming shut when the windows were open for ventilation. These stops cured that problem.

Works Great – Difficult To Install
These door stops do not come with any instructions. The attachment bases are threaded into the bottom of the two pieces. They are easily unthreaded with a wide blade screwdriver. I found a location on the wall where the door stop screws would hit a stud so I didn’t need to use the supplied drywall anchors. I intended to fasten the ball end to the wall. I cut a round piece of duct tape1-1/8” in diameter. I doubled a piece of scotch tape into a loop to make it tacky on both sides. I placed the scotch tape on the smooth side of the duct tape circle so the tacky side was out. I centered the duct tape on the socket end stop with the tacky side out. I put the two stop pieces together. I placed the ball end on a book shelf and pushed the assembly to the side of the shelf so it pushed the socket end straight. I rotated the assembly to make sure the two pieces were aligned. I carefully threaded the unit onto the base attached to the wall without knocking the pieces out of alignment. I then opened the door fully and pushed it firmly against the door stop. When I closed the door the scotch tape let loose leaving the duct tape circle on the door. I centered the base on the circle and drilled two screw holes, removed the duct tape and attached the stop to the door.

Works great and better price than the box store. A little fiddling to line up the magnets like some reviewers said but not overly hard. Screw in one side (I did the wall) and then pop the other side of the door stop on it (hanging mid air) and then use that to push the door against to mark your location on the door. I just spun the circle a little to leave a small outline. Otherwise you may have to loosen/move one side or the other to find the sweet spot for the magnet. I did three and first one took longer cause I didn’t do this.

Die Magnete halten locker jede normale Tür, aber auch leicht zu lösen wenn man die Tür wieder schließen will. Sehr leichte Installation und schrauben sind schon dabei. Würd ich wieder kaufen wenn benötigt.

Finally, a door stop that is both compact and doesn't require mounting to the floor. I bought these for an apartment front door and a bedroom door. Just installed them today and so far they are fantastic. As this is an apartment, the front door is heavy duty and has a door closer installed. Despite this, the magnetic door stop worked perfect. In fact, I have reduced the power of the magnet by putting a little strip of paper over it, just to make it a little easier to close the door. The paper sits on the inside and does not affect the outside look of the door stop in any way. One tip to help with installation is to mount the backing plates with double sided tape first. That way you can screw the whole unit on and get the alignment right before screwing the holes. When you figure out the right location, leave the mounting plates attached to the wall and trace the screw holes with a pencil. Then you can remove the plate and tape, and screw the actual holes. I don't know why Amazon now says these are unavailable, but it looks like there are clones under different manufacturers. Search for mini door stop and see if you have any luck.

Very strong little door magnets. Work really well, look good. Be careful if you have magnetic toes though as my friends magnetic toes got stuck to it and I had to call his mum.
