This is the second time I order this monitor, because I accidentally broke the first one. I looked for other options but this has been the best. I tried hybrid cameras but they’re so unreliable, I was hesitant when first buying this since it’s Bluetooth only but it’s been perfect. The connection is strong, no buffering. I can sleep soundly while my baby is in his own room knowing I will hear him and can see him whenever he wakes up for a feed. Whenever I’m out and he’s being watched by the nanny, she can go all the way outdoors and the connection would still be solid. The only thing I prefer would be for the volume to be through buttons on the side instead of being on the screen only. Whenever my baby wakes up I reduce the volume immediately to avoid waking up my husband and it would be easier to do that with physical buttons.

The wide screen is great for better video quality and clarity of the screen’s picture. If it’s zoomed in, the picture is a bit grainy especially in night mode. Other than that, very happy with the quality of the camera for the price

Three Hellobaby Models Tested After spending a ridiculous amount of time researching baby monitors, I decided to go with HelloBaby as it seemed they had the best customer service. I currently use an audio only V-Tech that’s pushing 8 years old and still works after countless near-death experiences (I think it was run over at some point). My only gripe is that it eats batteries so I wanted to get something rechargeable to grab and go outside with – without having to search high and low for an extension cord and an open outlet because the V-Tech ate thru a months' worth of triple A’s last Tuesday. Having a camera again seemed fun after ditching our creepo weefee one years ago, so after subjecting my eyes to hours of Vava and LeapFrog and Babysence reviews – I settled on HelloBaby. I ended up buying three models because I am as indecisive as they get and unless I can put 10,000 miles on it to make 110% sure I am absolutely satisfied with my decision..I can’t make a decision. I purchased the 5in model HB6550, the 5.5in model HB6081, and the 6in model HB6560. Really the only thing I cared about was distance. I know the range on these things aren’t the best but we live in the country and I don’t want to be tied to the house when I could be outside on the patio watching the grass grow. I’d rather keep lining Duracells CEO’s pockets with my husband's hard-earned Benjamins. I ended up keeping the 5.5 model. I think the 5inch had just a hair farther range but it wasn’t enough to make that big of a difference. The split screen feature is nice and, in my opinion, it has the clearest image during the day - the 5inch being a little crisper at night – but again not that major of a difference. My favorite monitor itself was definitely the 6”, but the range was the worst of the three. It was very similar in image clarity to the 5inch, with the 5.5 again being the winner. The 5inch model requires you to click into settings, select volume, and then adjust. The 5.5 and 6inch have a dedicated button that controls both volume and screen brightness. It is nicer having the separate button. The 5inch does not have split screen as the others do. To view multiple rooms, you select a loop that switched cameras every 10 seconds. I’ve got anxiety of course of course, so sometimes this seems like an incredibly long time, but I've worked thru it – and you can too. Both split screen options only play audio on the selected camera. Which sucks but I haven’t found another option that isn’t WIFI or 1Million money dollars, and it's easy enough to just select the other camera to check OR just switch it to the loop. So, best range..5inch. Best image..5.5inch. Best monitor (clearly esthetically speaking)..6inch. On a side note, I tried the lullabies on the 5.5 and they are actually really nice..I tried one of the other ones and it was terrible, but I can’t remember which and unfortunately for you I’ve already got them packed for drop off at the UPs. Now, if you’ve made it this far..thank you. I’m imagining this helping someone as I sit here tending to grammatical errors instead of the load of wash patiently waiting to be dried since yesterday. My final bit is on the customer service of HelloBaby – which was ultimately why I decided to go with this brand. I initially ordered the 6in and the 5inch, and emailed the company asking for the companion camera to the 6in model as I was in need of two. Within a day I had a response, which number one..thank you. I am so incredibly tired of being blatantly ignored by companies and have returned more than one item out of spite as I channel my inner Grandpa V.O. and stick it to these companies that can’t be bothered to take care of their customers when their shit inevitably fails. Every correspondence that followed was within a day, helpful, and polite. I will stick with a company based on that alone because today it’s damn near impossible to find. Rating all three of these 5 stars based on them being decent baby monitors, at a decent price point, with an awesome customer service department. Thanks HelloBaby for not making me dance thru crowds of clowns to get timely, good, old fashioned customer service.

I was specifically looking for a baby monitor that didn’t rely on an internet connection, since I didn’t want to keep my phone screen on constantly. This Hello Baby monitor solved that perfectly. The camera needs to be plugged into external power, while the monitor is rechargeable and holds charge for several days. It connects quickly and has been very reliable. The video quality is sufficient for its purpose, and the night mode works surprisingly well. There’s no noticeable lag in the video feed. The screen graphics do feel a bit low-resolution by today’s standards, but the image quality itself is clear enough for monitoring your baby, which is what matters. I do wish the pricing was a little lower and that there were more good non-Wi-Fi options available in the market. That said, for what it offers, this is a solid, dependable choice, highly recommended for parents who want peace of mind while finishing up chores.
