Van Der Hagen Cooling Shave Gel - Invigorating, Non-Foaming Shave Gel, Cools and Refreshes Skin, Helps Reduce Nicks, Razor Burn and Irritation, 6 oz

It's very cool and smooth. I, at first, squeezed about a quarter size in my hand. Entirely too much. Even though I am shaving my face and head. Doesn't lather like other creams.I've used 3 of the shaving creams. Like each one of them. Regular, heated, and cool. Perfect for me.

Years ago and before the advent of either the “Head Blade” or the “Leaf Razor” multiple blade razors, I purchased the now defunct Zirh Shave Gel for head shaving.The Zirh came packaged in a round 8.4 oz plastic tub and was blue in color. The Zihr was the best head shave gel I had ever used. Sadly now they decided to replace the gel with a white cream which does clog the newer multi blade razors shown. I decided to try the “Van Der Hagen” shave gel as I do use this brand for face shave with either their cream or soap puck and a great product from Universal Beauty Products. I purchased both of VDH’s gel, their Precision Gel and the Cooling gel from Amazon. Both these gels are equal to my old experience with the Zirh. I prefer the cooling gel over the precision gel as the smell is more pleasant and not the Eucalyptus smell of the Precision gel. Both these VDH gels do not clog any of my Head Blade or Leaf razors which was a big problem with the proprietary “Head Slick” cream or other creams. The gels are even more lubricating and slippery for a perfect shave. The 6 oz. tubes are very cost effective and can be found cheaper by other vendors but is now my favorite head shaver product. The Leaf razor with disposable 1/2 DE blades is a more frugal purchase than the Head Blade cartridges and availability of DE blades is World wide. My opinions. Ted

This is one of the best products to use when doing a wet shave with an electric. No foam, nice cooling effect and the glide is unreal! It is so slick, the shaver just slides so fast. Now it's not perfect, only one downside for me. The product dissipates fast. You get a few passes and the product quickly disappears. For the best electric wet shave I like to use this with King of Shaves shave gel which is a great product. Just doesn't have the slickness of Van Der Hagen.

After years of using shaving cream, this shaving gel came as a revelation. This gel is so slippery compared to shaving cream, that it makes shaving easier and less irritating to the skin. The gel is clear and easily applied. It rinses off with no problems.

I try to support small businesses but it does tend to come at a cost. So I didn’t mind spending more. This is about double the cost of my usual gel.Shaving gel doesn’t need to foam. That’s a gimmick we’ve just grown used to. No foam means it is cleaner. But you definitely need more of it.The shave itself is of very similar quality. The first time I used it, I thought maybe it was a little cooler on my skin. But I didn’t notice that from the second shave on.The reason I won’t get it again is that I’m trying to cut down on my plastic use. I stopped using toothpaste in tubes (I use tablets), or detergent (paper-like sheets) or foaming soap (tablets) from huge plastic containers. For environmentally conscious consumers, they really need to find another material for their containers!

Works great! I love that it is clear and you can see what you are shaving. The blade glides easily providing a clean and close shave. It feels wonderfully cool when you're done shaving. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting a clear shave lotion made from natural ingredients.

Most amazing shaving lotion ever goes on clear so you can see where you're shaving particularly around a goatee. It's so slippery never had a cut with it

Very good for lining up your beard but also amazing comfort for a general shave.
