This little guy is so cute. He was easy to make and the instructions were good.

It was kinda frustrating at first but once i took my time it was very easy and came naturally. The instructions do kind of go a bit fast but it was fine. it does seem a bit smaller than the one in the video but other than that perfect

I bought this and another kit for something to do. I wish they would have been a little bit bigger but I'm happy with them. I was really impressed with the fact that they sent a qr code with video directions on it. I haven't picked up a hook in15 years, so I'm pretty rusty with remembering all the stitches. But having a video to watch really helps. My mom taught me how to crochet when I was a little kid. She and I would crochet together and if I made a mistake she corrected me and she showed me all the stitches and told me what they were but never wrote anything down. The kit was very nice with the essentials in it ,but they were a little flimsy, but OK for the price. I would recommend this kit to anyone. I'll probably buy more from them.

This is an awesome kit, easy instructions, you can replay them as much as you like. Fast or slow as you go, my 8 year old completed this. Turned out adorable.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS KIT. The pattern if you know how to read them it's very straight forward and pretty simple. I even added a little Keychain! I might have a team of different colored axolotls using this pattern someday lol.

This was my first time ever crocheting and now I'm hooked. I made one with the blue yarn it comes with, then I bought some glow in the dark yarn and made one with that. Then my coworker asked if I could make her one, so I'm in the process of that. The videos were easy to follow. There were separate videos of how to do each stitch, but they also showed how to do each stitch throughout the axolotl making process. The sewing part was a little glossed over but I just re-watched it a few times and really payed attention to where the needle should be passing through.

It’s frustrating that I cannot review these kits separately. They are different and have different quality levels. My first review below was 4 stars for the Blue Axolotl because it was fun and worked up well. The second kit was a big disappointment so I had to change to 1 star. First kit from Gipony - Blue Axolotl Very cute and fun pattern. Yarn was good to work with. Finer weight version of Woobles yarn. I like buying kits even though I am an intermediate crocheter. I throw the kit in my bag knowing I have everything I need. I’ve been looking for a more cost effective alternative to the name brand, knowing it won’t be as good, but just wanting the kit experience. This met the need with a few issues. The hook is not good. The angle of the hook to the shape of the handle was not correct and I had to get my own 2.5 hook. The eyes don’t stay together. I have plenty of my own, but that was a bummer. Also, I would not say this is a beginner kit. Working with sport weight yarn + LOTS of sewing. I’m not a beginner, so that’s fine, but this was more involved than expected for being called “good for beginners”. Otherwise it’s a good kit. Second kit from Gipony. Manta Ray This kit has same issues as first with the provided hook and safety eyes ( not a problem for me, I have my own, but the thing with the eyes is just annoying) . But the big deal breaker - I REALLY hate when sellers misrepresent the fiber content of their yarn. This is not cotton. It’s sport/baby weight acrylic. Not at all a beginner yarn and not as represented. And a completely different yarn than the other kit. I really dislike making Amigurumi with acrylic yarn and would not have purchased if I had known. It hurts my hands. I’ll have to give it away. The other kit had a cotton and nylon blend. So saying cotton there wasn’t a complete lie. But this yarn is just plain baby yarn. This pattern is cute, but lying about fiber content is just the worst. I would send it back but I got it on sale so the cost doesn’t warrant the hassle of returning. Since I can’t trust this seller, I will not purchase any more of their kits.
