The Moon (My First Discoveries) [Biard, Philippe] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Moon (My First Discoveries) Review: Another wonderful My First Discoveries book! - We have a 3-year-old girl who absolutely loves all of the My First Discoveries books. The books in this series are well-written and make good use of the transparent vellum pages to show how objects change. This book, The Moon, is a bit more advanced than the others -- it describes not only the phases of the moon but also its distance from the earth, eclipses, and space exploration. My First Discoveries books (formerly known as "First Discovery" books during their original print run in the 1990s), all focus on nonfiction subjects and are perfect for 3-5 year olds. The books "The Egg," "The Tree," and a few others are some of the best toddlers' books I've ever read and have won many awards. Most other books about plants and animals are good, but once you get farther into technology ("The Camera," "Internet," etc), the older books will be very dated. The "Atlas of ______" books are not that great.
