The pliers are well made and have good leverage and grip when you need to dislodge hooks, the cutters are sharp and work very well. They hold up pretty good in the salt👍

As they are, these pliers would get 4/5 stars. They check all the boxes, but do have the commonly known issue that the jaws don't fully close. Gerber prioritized the carbide cutters closing first for some reason. But it's an easy fix. All you need to do is grab some aluminum duct tape (or another tape) and put a couple strips under each of the removable plier faces. Adjust it so that the pliers close to your satisfaction. Takes 10-15 minutes at most

These pliers are top notch! If you are looking for quality, don't look anywhere else. I've purchased all kinds of pliers and they either rust, corrode or seize up in salt water. I fish inshore and offshore at least every other week. all my pliers get tons of saltwater on them, which means they also mess up, even after rinsing them. I treat these Gerber's the same way I've treated all the other pliers, no visible rust or corrosion after almost a year of using them. Spend a few bucks more and get quality. The right tool for the right job. You won't buy anymore pliers after these.
