Good quality
Great flavor, easy on acidity in taste. The way I enjoy it is just plain, its also good with some creamers and sugar or splenda. But like I mantioned, by it's self is best to me.

Pleasantly Surprised
I am so surprised by this blend of coffee. This is such a good brand of organic coffee, but as this is one of their stronger darker roasts I was expecting it to be overpowering. This blend while strong is also smooth, fresh, and aromatic without that burnt aftertaste you get with alot of dark roast coffees. I've been using this as a cold brew and its the perfect blend to wake me up and get me moving on cold winter mornings.

Good 454, but my fav is the Grizzly Claw whole bean.
I accidentally purchased the 10oz med, in ground, 454, instead of whole bean. I intended to do a taste comparison from my 2.2 lb Smart Ass Medium whole bean and my Grizzly Claw, a Dark Whole Bean. The 454 is tasty, but it is my least favorite of the 3 that I have tried. My fav is the Grizzly Claw, a Dark Whole Bean. It seems to be a lot smoother for us who drink black coffee without any sweetness added. These are a little pricey imo. I'd like to see a price point reduction. Even still, I just reordered my second 2.2 lb, whole bean Grizzly Claw. It's delicious! Btw, I used to live in cranbrook, BC, in the 80's, just a hop, skip and jump from you, in Inverness. (in usa now, though) :)

Just ok
I’ll start off by saying coffee taste and preference is completely subjective. While down south last year I did discover Westrock Sumatra blend coffee at a hotel. Didn’t think hotel coffee would be good but boy was it heavenly. Only Amazon and Kroger seem to carry it and with no Kroger near me, I didn’t care and paid three time the amount on Amazon because it was that good. Yesterday I discovered it is not available on Amazon anymore and my heart sank. I looked forward to my mornings because of waking up to this coffee. Long story short, I went on a mission and researched and read what felt like a million reviews in order to find something that could compare. I finally settled with Kicking Horse and I was initially going to go with three sisters but because something in the description talked about sweet after tones, I opted for no because I hate when coffee has a sweet aftertaste. My Westrock coffee smelled heavenly out of the bag, filled all my senses while brewing and had a bold, smooth flavor that was savory and satisfying. So I opted for 454 horsepower because it is a dark roast and promised some of the qualities I enjoyed from Westrock coffee. Boy was I disappointed. Upon opening the bag, the aroma did nothing for me at all. While brewing, the aroma was uninspiring. It did not awaken my senses nor did it scream “this is going to be one good cup of coffee”. As far as taste goes, the aftertaste has sweet notes (ewhh…yuck). The flavor is not bold or rich at all. Tastes like McDonald’s Colombian blend coffee from the grocery store. Oh well. Unfortunately I must continue my search despite all the the research I did that led me to this brand and blend, only to be disappointed. Word of caution, if you like bold, smooth, rich tasting coffee that is satisfying and tasty, this is not the coffee for you. I honestly don’t know how this coffee gets such good reviews when it I simply mediocre at best. I only gave it 3 stars because it is edible and the expiration date is a year away. I am debating just throwing it out. But I do not have a replacement yet. Amazon please bring back the Westrock Sumatra blend!!!!!!!!! please!!!!!
