Pioneer GM-D8601 Class D Mono Amplifier with Wired Bass Boost Remote

I will start by saying I gave this 5 stars because of the quality of the amplifier in respect to the cost of the amplifier. It was pleasantly surprising to see how well it is built. Had I paid $300 for this, I would not have been so pleased. Keep that in mind as you read. I was originally wary of buying this amplifier due to its cheap price and the lack of clarity in some of its reviews (saw a few 5 star reviews on other sites that noted potential issues and/or had a lack of information to back up the rating). However, I decided to go ahead with it anyways as it is CEA-2006 compliant and I was assured it would meet the specs it claimed to have. I have been running it at 1 ohm for about a month on a 12 inch RE Audio SE-X V2 750 watt rms subwoofer in a ported box tuned to 35 hertz. Even at 1 ohm it does not heat up and it does do the rated power of 800 watts (I clamp tested it to make sure). The amplifier itself is very attractive looking and very clean in appearance. My only complaint is that the writing on the sides to note positive/negative/etc is in a color that is very hard to see on the grey metal, but this is not a big deal. It has the typical features of a monoblock amp and performs exactly how it is supposed to. DO NOT expect a perfect amp that has all the features of a $400-$500 JL amp or anything like that, but do expect reliable, clean power for a very low price.

This amp stays cool even when pushed hard... I have this amp and a Rockford Fosgate P1 15" sub at 2 ohms in a 2018 Honda Fit Sport at the moment and it pounds. I just ordered another one of these amps for my other sub, a Pioneer Champion series 12“ to hit other notes the 15" lacks in producing. Hope it works out like I think it will. For the money, this amp is a great and sounds very clean. I'll be running this sub at 2 ohms also. This amp can run 1 ohm stable to get its full power but I'd rather run them at half throttle to get better efficiency but it's nice to know if I wanted I could run them at 1 ohm down the road. I'm very happy with it and say if your looking for a good quality amp for subs, give it a go🙂 Update: bought a second one for the 12" and it's perfect... They run so efficient that I'm still using a 8 gauge power wire through a splitter to both amps at 2ohms and they barely get warm and the power wire isnt hot at all. Very happy so far. Hope they last... Time will tell. UPDATE 6/15/2019 Both amps with same setup still running awesome and I pound them hard... So happy with it!

This amp was everything I hoped and thought it would be. Got to give a big thanks to the people who have bought and rated it. Thanks to the remarks I went with this amp to power a pioneer champion pro Ts 3002d2 and its perfect. I used a line driver in tube past on my previous amp, but no need with this one. The sub says it puts out 3500watts peak and 1000watts rms at 1ohm. I think the amp puts out more than the 800watts rms, cause I can barely turn the gain to half before it feels like my car will fall apart. Really I recommend this set up. I had a custom box mad for my car ported 3/4" high grade mdf and fine tuned for this sub, and it is wonderful. I went to the audio shop to pick up my box and hooked up the sub in the new box and every worker and customer came outside to see what was creating that wonderful sound. When they seen it was one sub they flipped. It is because this amp is perfect for the sub. Hit so so hard and so so deep. Great amp and it stays nice and cool the whole time.

I have two 12" 700w subs. My friend bought this amp and he liked it a lot so I gave it a shot since my 1000w Kenwood amp wasn't cutting it. This amp is super small, less than half the size of my old amp and supplies a good amount of power to my subs. The bass boost remote is a nice feature as well, I use this at about 1/3 of what it can do and it works beautifully! It's worth every dime I paid. HOWEVER, the shipping was absolutely pathetic! It was FedEx to blame, not the seller. It was delayed almost a week at a FedEx station and I was never given a reason. Overall this amp is fantastic and I recommend it! Just don't order it if you need it by a specific time.

Very Reliable, honestly impressed with this amp I've put a ton of hours over the years on this amp It has never even gone into protection mode/overheated This amp and sub combo is awesome, Accurate and Loud! Paired up with a Pioneer TS-A300D4 12 Inch Subwoofer (1500W max)

Strong, runs surprisingly cool, looks great, amazingly compact, easy to hook up, just a great amp so far. One thing I don't love is the control knob, when turned all the way down it doesn't cut the power completely. I like having the knob so I can drive in my neighborhood without bumping. But I have to turn the knob and turn the music down so as not to trudge up suspicion. But other than that just a great amp. One other thing is that my 4 gauge cable had to be snipped down to fit in the connectors. I still love it though! And the price is great for an amp like this.

I bought amps that would overheat and stop working about 20 minutes in drive. So I bought this amp because of the reviews. I was looking for a amp that is powerful and doesn't overheat and turn off. This amp does just that and is half the size of my old one. I only need it for a set of 12" mtx. Not trying to be king of the street but people with L7 speakers are impressed. I bought this amp before and I bought it again because I liked the reliability. Hot California sun all day with tinted windows and this amp would always work. I would recommend it to everyone. two bad things are I would say it's hard to find and not a 4way or anything to power you're full ride. Only your sub box. I need something for my mtx terminator dual 12 ". I'm not trying to power door speakers with the sub. There's also a volume knob for the sub that I placed by my ac controls. That little gizmo is always fun to impress people when they get in my car. I turn it up for a good massage. So nice you'll want to but it twice, 5 star amp for the price. Bars to live by.
