They're the real dill
These pickles are real dill pickles, not kosher dills. They are huge. They remind me of the pickles we could by at the movies when I was a child. They have the right amount of crunch when you bite into them. The vinegar and spices are well balanced for the perfect pucker. Real dill pickles are hard to find in the grocery stores, so I love that I can get these from Amazon.

Yuck!
These do not have a good flavor at all. Tasted like they were set in sea salt and water. There's not a dill pickle taste to them. They taste more like mushy kosher pickles. Total waste of money as I can't even eat them!

Incredible Taste, but…
These are very good. I love pickles and have been trying new and different brands from Amazon that I can’t find at my local grocer. My favorite ‘typical brand’ I can get locally are Claussen, so that’s kind of my benchmark. Not a huge Vlassic fan, though their ‘Homestyle’ (I think they’re called) are very good. The flavor for these Best Maid’s are extreme. They give you that bite that’s not overly ‘vinegary’, loaded with juice, and give you that ‘thing’ in the back and bottom of your jaw, making your mouth water, for sure. They are really sour (not like a ‘Sour Pickle’ - if that makes sense) and I think that’s attributed to Best Maid using alum in their ingredients. I don’t really know anything about alum except the old Bugs Bunny/Tom & Jerry cartoons where the antagonist would use it on the protagonist and his mouth would shrink - that’s all I knew about what alum is or does. So when my face shrank so tight and small it could’ve been sucked through a straw like the old-timey cartoons, when I looked at the ingredients list and I was immediately like, “Oh yeah… that’s what it is…” I can sit and pretty much just eat an entire jar of pickles if I like them. Sometimes when I get groceries I’ll actually get 2 jars of Claussen, (or my local grocer carries some Garlic dills made by Ba-Tempte, which are fantastic - Try their pickled tomatoes, too!) and I’ll eat half of 1 jar while I’m taking care of the groceries. With that being said, I continued eating quite a few of these Best Maids, and let me tell you, I got really sick to my stomach. I’m attributing that to the alum, can’t say for sure, but I am used to eating a ton of pickles in one sitting, and ‘alum’ is not listed on any of the other pickles’ ingredients lists. Also, I use pickle juice to brine chicken, especially chicken tenders, and after using Best Maid’s pickle juice (from this gallon jar of pickles I purchased), I actually had some stomach and bathroom ‘troubles’ after eating my chicken tenders dinner. They are a very good pickle, but for me I have to eat them in serious moderation. It also would be nice to get them in a smaller amount than gallon. Would be extremely useful if I were a deli or restaurant, but for personal home-consumption, and risking an upset stomach eating too many (for me), it’s a lot… lol. Definitely give them a shot though!

By far my new favorite Dill pickles seen the price drop and grabbed them. I haven't had pickles like this since the ones you get at the mall in the 90s! In my area of Canada stuff like this is not easy to get unfortunately. They are nice and tart with a great dill flavor if you don't like a pickle that bites back these might not be for you.

I'm not exactly an elite pickle connoisseur "I buy mostly Bicks" and so I found the bitter flavor of these pickles to be somewhat shocking although alluring ..... I can easily see myself getting addicted to them and will probably buy more ..... I don't think that I'm ready yet to eat a whole one on it's own but I have cut them up and added them to my Ritz crackers with sliced Cracker Barrel cheese and kielbasa ...... I'd also like to try cutting some up into a bowl of pork n beans and into some toasted cheese sandwiches.
