Best soundcard I've used
What a piece of kit! Bought this in May 24 and have left until now to submit my thoughts on it. "WOW" I think that it even looks good on my desktop, and for something that size What a punch it performs, Just by adding it into my system, what a difference it has made, It's a good job I have some decent speakers that can handle the extra , although I don't need it very often , The clarity is amazing, very easy to set up, The control panel takes a little while to get right ( but that's part of the fun of it ) And paired with a set of decent headphones the experience just keeps getting better. All in all money well spent !!

Perfect Nintendo Switch dac/amp
I bought this to use with my Nintendo Switch, which can be very fussy about which DACs it'll work with. For the Switch, it's a huge upgrade in terms of sound quality. Sound is much more immersive, with good detail and separation. The DSP effects work well and it is more than capable of driving higher end headphones (HD 650). I haven't tried optical out, but line out plays nicely with my speakers (MR1 mk2). Compared to the Cyrus Soundkey I also tried with my Switch, sound is slightly less separated, but the G6 doesn't suffer from the Soundkey's hyper-treble. More importantly, it has none of the Soundkey's compatiblity issues (which had frequent dropouts and distortion). Compared to the Soundblaster G3, it's as compatible but sounds much better (the G3's sound isn't a significant upgrade from on-board sound). I tested it briefly with my desktop and have mixed feelings. It's definitely a good upgrade from onboard sound, and has some nice gaming-centric features. You really need to disable all DSP effects if you're using it for music or movies, and even the limits because quite obvious playing a high quality source. Compared to my Chord Mojo, instruments lacked separation, sound stage was cramped and detail was generally lacking. So there you have it. Great upgrade for the Switch and a solid upgrade fron on-board sound in Windows. I wouldn't say it punches above its weight, as it really doesn't hold a candle to the likes of the Chord Mojo or M-dac Mini, but it's good value for money nevertheless.

Adds the extra oomph to your headset
The device is connected via a USB and works with pc, Xbox, playstation, Nintendo switch and pretty much anything that has a usb port. It comes with required usb cable, but also a supported fiber optic cable if that suit your needs better. The front of the device has standard 3.5 mm jack for audio out and mic in. The device adds a extra kick to your headset and by standard setting with no effects it already provides much better and fuller audio and it can drive headsets up to 600 impedance. It comes with a easy to use software where you can tune in effects very accurately and has buttons on the side to enable or disable presets quickly. The underside surface has a non slip pad so that it doesn't glide around your desk as easily and the volume knob feels great and is of good quality. There are top facing RGB logo on top that you can turn on and off and change colors and add effects. Volume knob is also surrounded by a white light to easily find it when in a dark room. It supports side tone however the drawback is that there is going to be a tiny delay but if you turn of all post processing effects it is usable. For gaming it comes with a scout mode setting with lowers some unimportant ear candy and amplifies footsteps and speech for proximity chat and teammates which is very useful. It supports stereo mode, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound. Overall a great device and worth the buy however the delay on side tone is a small drawback.

one of the best PC audio upgrades
After having issues with onboard audio (buzzing and crackling noises while moving the mouse and playing sound), I've decided to give Sound Blaster a go. And rather than installing a PCI card, like we used to in the old days, I decided to try the USB device so I can also more easily move it from one PC to another. I first bought a G5 and later replaced it with a G6. I now own 2 G6's and they're amazing. I love the fact that you can tweak the audio to your liking and the sound profile stays saved on the device, even if it's disconnected and moved to another PC! Another great feature is that the two front 3.5mm inputs allow for headphones or headset (w/ mic) and a dedicated microphone. If you unplug the headphones/headset, audio automatically gets routed to the rear audio-out. I've connected the G6 to a Fosi Audio D-class amp and a set of bookshelf speakers and I've been very happy. Beats onboard audio even on the high end motherboards. If nothing else, the SB Command app and the physical controls which are right in front of you make a huge difference. P.S. I've ran a cheaper version of these (G3 model with usb-c cable) on my IPAD and it worked without issues. I believe G6 would too with the right adapter.

Insanely good positional virtual 7.1 audio with no audible distortions or audio artifacts.
Bought the SBX G6 to use with my Beyerdynamic Tygr 300R headphones on PC as I heard the virtual 7.1 positional audio was exceptional and it's even better than I expected. I use it for competitive gaming and also for various genres of music. If you love rock then this amps dynamic range and ability to separate and place instruments using the virtual 7.1 is really impressive and I can't hear any sort of artifacting like I did when using software based spatial audio(Dolby access and DTS:X). I rarely use the audio enhancements from the apps SBX profiles as it makes everything way too open sounding and echoey but it's nice to have for certain open world games. Rear directional audio using virtual 7.1 is pinpoint accurate, best I've heard I'd say. The rubber base could do with a bit more friction as my fiio e10k's 4 corner rubber feet have more traction. The amp also gets quite warm under use so my only concern is longevity but I'd imagine Creative accounted for that and chose internal materials to suit.

would be brilliant if it didn’t have issues.
when it works, the product is fantastic. however 1 day into using this uk having issues of the unit completely cutting out and not coming back on without having to reboot the pc. also the microphone input on the device suffers hit and miss issues where loss of sound and static happens intermittently ( which would marry up with the sound issues). running latest firmware, tried usb 2.0/3.0 same problem. using in high gain setting to power my 250ohm dt880s. lists as able to drive up to 600 ohm headsets so shouldn’t have any issues running 250s. the unit does get hot aswell whilst in use and wonder if this is causing the issues. would recommend product if i didn’t have these issues as when it works the quality is great and the surround is brilliant. but if you play competitive games like me, it really messes you up when you lose audio and have to reboot.
