An easy to use bonding product for woodworkers where strength and water resistance are required.
Excellent product. Easy to use. Pot time at 60 - 65 degrees was 30+ minutes with working time near an hour. Mixed product has low viscosity and gells slowly. It adhears to surfaces better and runs less if you are patient and allow time to gell. I am using the product to bond a large wood project. The metering pumps are a must have and make mixing totally fool proof. West Systems has a great web site and lots of information on how to use. Also several You Tube videos on using the product. Product can be stored with the pumps in the original containers for an extended time so minimal clean up.

Expensive, but worth it
I've been using West System for 20yrs with my boat. I built a doger, bimini, binnacle and holding tank with it. I've repaired blisters, deck cracks, sealed hull core and patched up all kinds of worn out and broken stuff with it. It adheres well with basic preparation. It is easy to work and has strong resistance to water intrusion. While it is a good idea to measure resin and hardener before mixing. I'm almost always successful with estimates. The hardener may turn yellow or brown in storage over time, but it is still 100% effective. I never hesitate to use yellow or brown hardener.

Really decent laminating resin
I have used this resin for years vacuum bagging wings for model airplanes as a kit manufacturer. The reason is fairly tolerant on mix ratio but you want to mix in small batches or spread it out on a plate as soon as you finish mixing or it will exotherm before you can use it all. It generates a lot of heat in a small mixing cup as it cures, you don’t have a lot of time if you leave it in the cup which is why I recommend pouring it in a paper plate after mixing. Test a batch before trying to use it in your layup to get an idea how fast it kicks off.As with any epoxy resin, keep the cans and pump separate and in plastic bags to increase shelf life or they will cross contaminate and go bad before you can use it all.

Excellent results for exterior gate.
Used to glue together a new gate made of cedar and will be exposed to the elements. Easy to use. Viscosity is somewhat thicker than Titebond but still very easy to spread with a disposable glue brush. Easy to sand away the drips. Open time was 20+ minutes using the slow setting hardener which was essential as this was a somewhat complicated glue-up. I love the pumps that measure the correct amount of each. I expect this will be my new primary glue for exterior work.

The slow hardener doesn’t keep it super fluid for long
Works well once cured. I wish it was less viscous for a longer time. My specific application required pushing through an applicator, which was challenging.

Absolutely the best.
The best part is the pump system, so easy to use, No scale needed. This stuff dries like absolute glass, and cleans up with rubbing alcohol before drying of course. It runs into wherever you need it to being pretty thin. There is almost no smell at all. I used this in a confined space with minimal ventilation, no mask and had zero issue with smell as well as my family who were Present when I used it. I used this epoxy to wet out the carbon/Kevlar inlay and fill the tip in my rc boat hull. This is amazing stuff, I don’t think I’ll be using any other epoxy for structural projects. My first choice seems to be a fantastic one. Working time is perfect for what I did with it. Around a 90 minute work time on surfaces with a thin film or 35-45 minutes in the pot. Soooo worth it. If I make a mold/boat I’ll be using this stuff without a doubt.

Not cheap, but easy to use and super durable
It's hard to beat two part cured epoxies for durability and toughness, but they can be a giant pain to use. Get the ratio wrong, and you either create a solid block of resin before you get a chance to use the stuff, or a tacky mess that never quite cures properly. The dosing pumps that come with the two parts of this stuff make it easy and clean to get the ratio right so you can plan ahead with enough time to get the coating job done right. Although this is the 'slow' setting version, you definitely want to use it promptly after mixing, particularly if you're going to apply it with a brush (you want it liquid enough to level a bit before setting). It sets up nicely into a very tough, hard coating. You can sand it if needed, but it you do it right, you probably won't have to. It's not the cheapest coating you will find, but if you need the best, this is probably it.

Who would think I'd develop an emotional bond with epoxy?
I've used the West epoxy system now for several projects -- building a bamboo bicycle frame, fabricating an architectural window arch of mahogany, etc. Have used the resin with quick hardener, slow hardener, with and without colloidal silica thickening. I've found *nothing* not to like about this stuff! It is easy to use, it is forgiving, it hardens in the time frame they say, it is thin and very penetrative in its basic state but can be thickened to make very elegant fillet joints. If you've used epoxies, you know they can sometimes be frustrating and disappointing. This system has never frustrated or disappointed me.Oh, by the way, good joints made with this epoxy are STRONG STRONG STRONG. I did some destructive testing on samples before building the bamboo bike. The joints survived sledge-hammer blows. So yeah, I love this stuff.
