Extremely pleased
It's not often that I write a review due to the absurd requirement that Amazon has to write a required number of words. I'm making an exception in this case because I think this item deserves some praise. I chose this over a picatinny rail because I wanted to be able to use my iron sights w/o removing the scope mount. Yes, it does limit scope placement a bit, but I found that this was not a significant factor. This is an excellent quality item that uses/includes screws with tapered heads to eliminate any possible movement of the mount on the receiver. One can, in fact, see and use the iron sights with this mount in place. I used it on a 10/22 takedown with low OD rings and it works wonderfully. Ordered one more for my other 10/22. For nine bucks it can't be beat. Just MHO.

Perfect for using with quick release scope rings
I have a 10/22 Takedown that I use with a scope mounted on medium height quick release rings. I used quick release rings so I could take the scope on and off easily and fit all of the components into the bag that comes with the 10/22 TD. The scope fits perfectly in the second sleeve on the side with two sleeves.Having a scope that could be taken on and off easily, I also wanted to take advantage of my iron sights. Unfortunately, the scope base that comes with the 10/22 is so high that you cannot see the rear sight when you have it attached (why Ruger designed it that way I will never understand). I replaced the stock sights with Williams Firesights, which I absolutely love but those were no higher than the stock sights and I still could not use them.I started searching for a solution but found little information. I ordered this rail on a whim. Delivery was a little long -- over a week -- but the rail arrived in a padded envelope in its original Leupold packaging. I took the stock rail off of the 10/22 TD, cleaned the threads with brake cleaner and acetone, put a drop of blue Locktite onto the new screws, and tightened the new rail down -- all of 5 minutes. The new sight picture is great! I can see my rear Firesight perfectly and can now use my irons and scope. Ruger should design its stock rail to be like this.

Doesn't fit Takedown 50th Anniversary.
This product does NOT fit the 50th anniversary takedown model. I bought this with hopes of putting a QD scope mount on it. The base only will line up with two of the possible holes on the gun. There are four holes for a base to mount to It's also longer than the receiver and thus doesn't sit flat on the top. Bought at brick and mortar sports store...will be returning.
