Great turbo yeast for flavorful homemade wineโeasy fermentation
I used the Still Spirits Classic Turbo Yeast to make homemade wine, and I was genuinely impressed. It kick-started fermentation quickly and helped produce a clean, consistent result from my batch. The package is easy to use, and the yeast performed well for the intended wine-making process. What stood out most was how well the yeast supported the overall flavor and helped my brew reach a strong end result. If youโre looking for reliable fermentation and good performance for homemade wine, this is a solid choice.

Good fermentation after just a few hours
Activated nicely in a cup of 90ยฐ water and tablespoon of sugar. I initially used some old yeast I had, and almost wasted a bunch of sugar, fermentation was almost none existent. So in an effort to save the batch I added the turbo yeast after activating. After just a few hours I have far more activity than a batch I started a day earlier, with fresher yeast than the second attempt. The additives definitely seem to help the little buggers get going pretty quickly. I've have to give it a couple days and test ABV. I'll purchase again more than likely.

Great yeast, but slow starting
The yeast seemed dead on arrival. I Tried blooming it several times and initially there was no activity. However it just took a while to get started. After a few hours, my mix was ripping with champagne bubbles. Now after 72 hours the result is quite good!

Guess I'll make a stout wine, oops.
Accidentally reordered, originally got the first one for sourdough experiment (did not work well) and by the time I realized I hit reorder it was too late to cancel. But thats my fault, the item itself works well, I've used it in the past to Kickstart a 5 gallon peach wine I Accidentally put too much fermentables into that had stalled. Took a long time for funky taste to go away but worked like a charm. Guess I'll keep it around and maybe try making a very sturdy wine at some point.

My Yeasty Boys
I originally used this strain only for its ability to chew through sugar fast. And don't get me wrong, I've never seen anything like it. But, in my opinion, it also has a good flavour profile. I have one batch of pyment that I drink while actively fermenting (for some health benefits), and the yeast themselves have a silky and buttery flavour that a lot of wine yeasts don't have. It reminds me of bread yeast, without any bitter notes, if that makes sense. So, obviously, this is 10/10 for alcohol production. 1 gallon will usually ferment to near completion in ~ 5 days. Which is high key amazing. But I was also surprised by how good the actual yeasts themselves taste. And I'm still experimenting with all of this. But these guys have become my favourite (at this point, my only) yeasts. Does anybody else call them "Yeasty Boys"?
