Lasted 5 YEARS in the AZ sun ð ðââïļ
I just came here to purchase this again. I bought my first one in 2020... 5 YEARS AGO. I live in Arizona... nothing lasts five years in the AZ sun! This was the best investment in my pool. $250 bought me at least six weeks of extra swim time for five years. Money well spent!! It wasn't until this fall that I started to notice some of the bubbles had disintegrated and began leaving little plastic pieces in my pool. Time for a new one.

Works well, keeps my pool warm.
They only last a few years, but that is normal. I like this one better than blue color. When they do go bad they make a mess so replace it before it disintegrates. I'm in eastern WA and during the summer I take it off it heats so well. I've had my pool 108 degrees before with it on during a 100 degree week with sun.

Faster than expected shipping
Does not seem as thick/sturdy as the one I bought 3 years ago, although it says it's the same 14 mil.

Purchased this cover May 21, 2024. It was on the pool from May to September 2024. It was kept on a solar pool reel when not in use and covered to keep it out of direct sunlight. I put a winter cover on it from Sept- May. Today May 6, 2025 less than one year later I uncovered and tried to pull it on to the pool and it is totally rotten. It ripped in my hand and parts of the center were totally ripped apart. I totally expected this cover to last a few years but it lasted one 3 month season. Very disappointed. I will try and locate the manufacture information and reach out to them to see if they will replace it.

I love to swim with my kids now!!!!
I am a cold person. I am the type of person that will go into the hot tub on a 100 degree day. I HATE going in a cold pool! When we bought our house I didn't realize that the pool that we fell in love with did not come with a heater. We had contemplated putting a heater in, which would have cost a fortune, but decided to just bear the cold pool because after the cost of putting in a heater we'd still be paying a fortune to actually run it. We kicked around the idea of a solar cover, but the only experience I had with a solar cover was a friends pool when I was a child. I just remember that her pool was always freezing so I assumed they just didn't work very well. Now we have been in this house for 3 years now and with a 3 and 5 year old we use the pool A LOT!! I started hating my decision to buy a house with a pool because it was always so cold and while my kids didn't seem to mind, using the pool was a dreaded part of my day. Finally I decided it was worth trying the solar cover. WOW, I cannot believe how well it works!! We put it on when the temp was at 75 and the weather was upper 60s-low 70s an very cloudy. It raised to 80 within a couple days. Then we hit a heat wave and after 1 day of it being at 100 degrees our pool is now staying at 90-95 degrees! WE CAN ACTUALLY GO NIGHT SWIMMING!!! No more inching our way in and having to "get used to it".I've never had a solar cover before so I cannot offer a comparison, and we've only had it for 2 weeks so I don't know how long it will last. For your own comparison - our pool is average size but fairly deep (11 feet) and not much of a shallow end. The 95 degrees temp was taken close to the bottom of the shallow end and I feel the water temp is evenly dispersed. Our pool is usually in full sun until about 3 in the afternoon so I can't attest for the effectiveness if your pool is more shaded.Obviously the one downfall of a solar cover is how difficult it is to take off and put back on. We cut it in half, but I think I'll even cut it more. It takes about 5 minutes to put it back on by myself, so it's not too bad. We got a pool box to store it in so it doesn't look awful bunched up on the side of the pool when we have guests over. I plan on putting colorful stickers or some kind of arrows to make it easier to figure out which side goes where. Overall I'm glad we went with this option over a pool heater. It looks ugly, but we take it off when we have company and I would prefer to have an ugly pool that we can use than a pretty pool that I dread going in.

Heats the water and prevents evaporation
Have the clear 14-mil version. A month in, and I've been pretty happy. Installed in April, and within a week, the water temperature had risen 10 degrees, in SoCal (from 70 to 80). We do get lots of sun, and this was the first time we had ever swum in April in our pool. After another 70-degree week in May, we're up to 87. Without the cover, we certainly wouldn't have gained more than 5 degrees in the same span - we'd always loose a lot of heat in the cool nights. We have a kidney shaped pool, and it was fairly easy to stretch across the pool, draw the edge with a sharpie, and cut to size with scissors. I've left a few inches extra on all sides so that it wraps up the edge of the pool tiles, and leaves some flexibility when aligned it back to fit each time. Never have had trouble with wind blowing it away. But if you leave the edges long and curled up, rain water collects on top rather than flowing into the pool.Removal is a little tricky, but it can be rolled long-ways, and then rolled again into a manageable cylinder. It's not heavy to lift. It feels very sturdy, dragging it along our concrete. After some practice, typically 5-7 minutes to remove and reinstall, just 1 person. 2 people certainly make it simpler. A rectangular pool would also be easier. The warmth is nice, and we also haven't had any evaporation - so no pool refilling yet. I almost think it'll be too good: I don't want the water 90 degrees, but I do want to avoid evaporation in the summer.

Great short term heater / anti-evaporation
Great at first. Raised our pool temp about 10 degrees F average. Used two years on the pool and took great care of it on a solar reel and stashed away for winter dried and covered. At the start of the 3rd pool season the air pockets came apart. You can see in the pics how they just almost rotted off. If youre looking for a short term solution this prob works great. I have reached out to customer service to see if this is normal. Will update when i hear back.
