Well made rifle cartridge holder with cut out for rifle sling stud
This is a well made, substantial rifle cartridge sleeve. I was using an Allen cartridge sleeve, but it was starting to fray from thorns on the brush in Africa, and the Allen sleeve didn't have the hole in it for the sling stud like this one does. I put it on a Weatherby rifle, which has a huge cheekpiece, so it was a stretch - literally - to get it on the stock. To put it on the stock remove the stock from the receiver and slide it on from the tip of the stock rather than trying to stretch it over the butt of the rifle. It only holds 6 cartridges (vs some that hold up to 12), but one rarely needs that many rounds plus the ones that are already loaded into the rifle itself at any one time. Also, it's made in the USA - right here in Bozeman, Montana.

Perfect for my application
I was looking for something to take the edge off of the recoil impulse on a mossberg 930 shotgun; 100 rounds of trapshooting and the light hollow synthetic stock did not make for the most comfortable experience. As the gun fit was good for me and I shoot it well, I did not want to alter the setup too much. After some researching of the various stock/comb pads available that were thin enough for my application, I decided to go with the StockGuard 2.0. As it arrived just before I was going to the range, I got to give it a try immediately. Perfect! Just enough padding to soften the recoil that was formerly whacking me in my cheekbone every shot, and thin enough that the ergonomics of the gun fit were basically the same. As an added bonus, my highly figured plastic stock is also protected from scratches and nicks heh heh. The StockGuard 2.0 itself is very well made, fits great, and goes on the stock very easy, but also stays fixed where you put it once it is on. Beartooth got this shipped out to me very quickly too, that was a pleasant surprise. All in all, I'm very pleased with both the product and the service. Buy with confidence!

Looks good and works well
I have installed on my 30-06 savage. I would upload a picture but the rifle in the display model is my exact gun so no need. It fits well, and stays in place on gun. I took the scope off to install it so I didn’t have to stretch it out too much. I feel like it’d be a pain otherwise Update: The look is awesome, the fit is awesome, but using it in the field just didn’t work out for me. I ended up taking it off halfway through season and because I didn’t want to pull my scope off and sight in again in the middle of the rut, I just cut the sleeve off. Not a bad idea, just didn’t work for me.

Quality product for the money.
I have four of these. Two of them are on shotguns two of them are on rifles. I have to say that I honestly purchased them mostly to put a foam insert under to raise the cheek well for an optic. I know you can purchase them with the foam insert however I saw on YouTube someone who bought different foam inserts that come in 3 sizes and I went that route instead. The only one without the foam insert is on my shotgun I use for trap and the only reason I have that is because I ordered a Mossy Oak and they sent me a Realtree Max 5 by accident so I kept it seeing as my trap gun is colored in mossy oak shadow grass blades. It does actually work out to reduce slightly the cheek slap you get from shooting repeated rounds. It is a very decent product. They are a little stiff and fumbly to install but it is decent quality for what I have found so far they have held up. They do tend to move around a little bit on a composite stock. Not a lot but it's not completely snug so you do have a little adjusting if you shoot a lot. Overall I think it's a very worthy purchase and a quality product.

Best quality I’ve had in a stock cover
Put this on a rifle that came with a Hogue stock. Stock is terribly uncomfortable to shoot with a high powered rifle (rubber grips your cheek) but this makes it usable. Very high quality and the pattern is perfect.

Great Fit
Great fit on my H & R 20 gauge single shot - holds my 20 gauge shells nicely

Good product but might not be the exact thing you need for a 30 cal
I purchased this for my Marlin 336rc. It fits well on the weapon. It was a bear to put on but I can say that I see the potential to loose cartridges because it is a little loose for the 30-30 cal. It does hold a 270 or a 7mm cartridge quite well though.
