Delicious
My husband loves chili dogs. Normally he would buy Hormel chili to put on them. Ugh! I found a recipe on America's Test Kitchen that's super simple - 1 lb. ground beef, 2 Tbl. chili powder, ½ tsp. each salt and pepper, ¼ cup tomato paste, and 1 cup of water. They also recommend this brand of chili powder. Gotta say, for such a simple recipe, this chili powder shines! Fabulous flavor. Hubby hasn't bought Hormel since.

Best bottled seasonings available
This is the best bottled chili powder I've found yet - and I'm quite critical of bottled seasonings. I prefer to cook with my own home-grown herbs and seasonings. However, I don't always have all the desired components on hand at all times. Morton & Bassett has proven to offer the best on the shelf. The problem I have is that my local grocers stock only a few Morton & Bassett products....and, their chili powder is one not available at my grocers. Therefore, I must order online. Thank Goodness for Amazon, Fresh Market and Whole Foods!

M&B Quality
I generally like the quality and freshness of Morton and Bassett spices and this smoked paprika is as good as any and better than most, that being said I'm not a big fan of paprika. It does give a hint of heat and smokiness and bit of sweet peppery pungency, the smoked flavor in my uninformed opinion I would speculate comes not from smoking the peppers over an oak fire but from an adulterant designed to give a char flavor because it smells like BBQ potato chips synthetic smoke.

Fresh, and saved a road trip to the fancy grocer
There are many seasonings where I reach for Morton & Bassett first, and this is one of them. Good, round flavor, not as sharp as some other brands, and hits all of the flavor notes that I wanted it to. I frequently use this and the M&B Coriander, and have never been disappointed with either. The jars are very reusable, too, so I keep them to blend my own spice mixes in.

Warning: Extremely picante!!
I love Tex-Mex food. (Born and raised in Texas.) But, contrary to all expectations, I simply cannot eat spicy foods! I’m also chassidic Jewish and live around lots of Israelis. Still can’t eat spicy foods. So I needed new chili powder and I love Morton & Bassett’s products, which is why I bought a jar of this spice. (I also bought some Ancho chili powder, because Anchos aren’t as spicy as chilis - still too spicy for me!) It’s really a shame that I can’t use this spice mix. I did make a batch of enchiladas using only 1/2 the designated amount, and I could eat it. It was still a little too much for me. So just remember that, when you buy high quality, very fresh spices and herbs, every flavor in a spice mix will be stronger and fresher. Every. Single. One.
