Got my sewing machine at a yard sale and this pkate was misding. The machone worked well without it, but I wanted the pkate. It fit petfectly and I was very pleased. It worked well.

I got a sewing machine from my local thrift store at an excellent price. It came with a pedal and everything. The only thing was that I needed a bobbin cover plate to get started. It became an issue when I discovered that my local sewing and department stores did not carry this piece. I also had trouble finding it on the Brother website. So I came to Amazon. I was a little apprehensive at first because I didnt see any reviews about my specific model (Brother JX 2517). From the pictures it looked to be the right shape. The numbers on the plate also seemed like it followed the incremental values on my machine , so I gave it a try. Lo and behold it fit! For any of you who are trying to learn how to sew and are fondling with the idea of getting one, please give it a try. If you can find one locally thats cheap it may be worth the investment to give it a try. Youll be able to learn and soon youll be able to hem, tailor your ill fitting clothing, or make your own pieces! For those who dont know where to start here are a few tips. Find a machine that has no mechanical issues or functional defects. It would be better to invest in a beginner machine than one that doesnt work properly. If you find one that has missing parts you may be able find it on here. If all else fails you may be able to ask an elder if they have one theyre not using anymore. I hope this helps!

I got the YEQIN Slide Plate Assembly Bobbin Cover Plate #XF2404001 to replace the missing one on my Brother XM2701, and it fits perfectly, sliding in easily to cover the bobbin. It’s a solid fix, and I can sew without issues now, which is a relief. But honestly, the price feels steep for such a tiny piece of plastic—makes me wonder why a small part costs so much. I guess it’s because it’s a specific fit for models like the LX2763 and others, but still, it stings a bit. If you need it, it does the job, just brace for the cost!
