Mr. Sunshine (K-Drama W. English Sub, All Region DVD)

The series turned out to be my favorite one to watch. It had an innocent love story, national loyalty, humor, suspense and generally a great story to follow. All the characters did a fantastic job and enjoyed the cinematography. I got this series for insurance so if Netflix ever removes the series, I'll still be able to watch my favorite episodes.

I am not a fan of having to read subtitles. It just means I have to where my glasses instead of resting my eyes looking at a big screen. However, this was worth it. I never new a movie could be so sensual without showing skin or even having the main characters (who fall in love) ever touch. It is a story about a confederate soldier (West Point grad) originally from the Far East. (That's almost another story until itself.) He returns under orders to serve as U.S. presence in order to maintain a positive relationship. The Japanese come to terrorize the country. The script, vidoeography, actors, and everything else should have earned this film kudos in every country. Bravo Korea for giving Hollywood a lesson in filmmaking!!!

This movie, Mr. Sunshine, was excellent and truly depicted a small country fighting for its independence inspite of the challenge of a battle with a much stronger and larger army. The story is well written and the cast was amazing. The life lessons of never giving up in or on what you believe, in spite of the odds, was powerfully taught through this story telling of victory and defeat .

The first disc refused to play the first episode. It got stuck and is unwatchable

Out of a few hundred Korean dramas I have viewed, this one tops them all . Based in history, the drama traces the life of a Korean American who returns to Korean in 1902 as Japan is pursuing its pernicious goal to colonize Chosun with its 600-year-old dynasty aided by corrupt Koreans who hope to profit by the chaos. A small group of patriots fights harder than the inept government to protect the people. There is sweet romance, beautiful cinematography, humor, strong character portrayal, and triumphant tragedy. A second viewing confirmed my high regard for this drama. I wish I could say all this and more to director, producer, screenwriter, actors -- all who made such a really fine drama.

Great TV drama! Great actors/acting! Great historical time period drama! Great story line! The drama illustrates the great character and courage of the Korean people during Japan's brutal domination at the beginning of the 20th century.

This dvd came much faster than anticipated and in very pristine condition. Yes, it was new, but I’ve received other new ones from other vendors that didn’t even come close to this! The English sub-titles are great and the visual clarity is so much better than watching it on Netflix/Amazon. I just finished watching the 1st disk, but believe the rest will be of equal quality. This historical fiction grabbed me as I have never paid attention to the transitioning of countries from a monarchy to democracy and the personal sacrifices made to accomplish this and the years it took. Added bonus were the actors! The movie was awesome, but the quality of the dvd set impressed me the most! I would definitely put my trust in this vendor!

My husband really liked the movie and I liked watching it with him. It is a very intense drama. The ending was both happy and sad. The drama portrayed patriotism for ones country and the courage to withstand the enemy no matter the cost to oneself.
