Decor Therapy Alice Traditional Floor Lamp, Antique Gesso 60" x 14"

I am giving this 5 stars for what it is. It is an inexpensive nice looking floor lamp. It is well enough made and sturdy enough. It is all I expect when purchasing an inexpensive floor lamp. What I was looking for was an inexpensive lamp to replace a 15+ year old lamp that was in our basement. I wanted something that I could control light brightness and dimness. I wanted something that offered a soft light to give a warm homey comfortable feel to our basement as well doing yoga without bright lights glaring down on me. I did not want to spend a lot of money because the lamp it was replacing was new to our basement in the last 9 months or so. We had it originally in our living room. When we replaced the living room lamp, it was still in working order so instead of donating or throwing it away, we brought it down to the basement. What we learned was that we really liked having a floor lamp in the basement so we can control the brightness. Weight wise, this is a light lamp. When I picked up the box when it arrived, I was amazed how light it was and how small the package was. The weighted base is about 10.5 inches in diameter. Where we have it placed- out of the way of foot traffic and animals- it works. My concern if it was not out of the way or if we had little ones running around is that it bumped or grabbed it can easily fall over. To put it together, it was extremely easy. Twist a few poles. Uncollapse the lampshade. Put in a bulb. Plug it in. It is working. It took me longer to find a 3 way lightbulb in our house. I was skeptical about the lampshade. It arrives collapsed and flat. Stretching out the few rods/brackets that are assembled on the lampshade makes the lampshade a lampshade. I was concerned it would look really cheap fully assembled. It looks good. The lampshade is not the best made. In a couple spots, The hem at the bottom seems to buckle a tiny bit from the shade itself. Overall, the lampshade works very well with it and put all together, I don't see the imperfections in it. Again, I am reviewing this as an inexpensive floor lamp. The swivel arm works easily and well. There are no defects in the lamp itself. No scratches. No dings. It is a decent quality inexpensive floor lamp. It is exactly what I would expect for what I paid for. There are no frills to it. It is basic. It Offers a beautiful soft light and tucks easily into a corner.

This floor lamp is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect height, shade shape and functionality. Very easy to asdemble. Very sturdy. Excellent lighting. It was $38. the day I pursue it. I'd looked at several that weren't as attractive for easily 4-5 times more. Very happy with this purchade.

This review is for the bronze swing arm floor lamp. My current swing arm floor lamp died. I did not want to spend a lot of money to replace it because I expect to move within the next year or 2 and my lamps always take a hit when I move. I settled on this one and got a good price buying it from the warehouse in "Like New" condition. Someone had barely opened the box and returned it, probably because they saw that the shade arrives flat. Up till now I have refused to buy “erect it yourself” lampshades, but I had the shade from my dead lamp, in fact that’s what I’m using because I like the color better. The shade to this lamp is a champagne color and has a slight sheen. I was impressed how nice-looking it turned out when I flipped the 3 supports into place. Be careful, you can pinch your fingers doing it. My styrofoam was a mess but I've had to deal with that before. The real problem is the little beads of foam are very staticky and cling to everything and jump around. They cling to the vacuum hose where you can't suck them up...sigh. Comparing the post of this lamp to my lamp that died, it's a much narrower diameter. I did find it difficult to screw in and seat the post sections perfectly and when I tried to undo one because I thought it was askew, the post took the bare metal threaded part from the lower section. I couldn't get the post tightened to where it had no wobble (very slight), but luckily where I've placed it, it won't matter. I couldn't get the top pole section completely seated to where you couldn't see bare metal, but it's only a tiny bit showing and it doesn't actually show where I have this lamp placed. The swing arm portion, harp, etc., are not perfectly straight and true but that's been the case with every swing arm lamp I've ever purchased. Oh Well. Don't buy this if a slight misalignment will drive you crazy. I don't think this lamp is worth the List Price but it's fine at a lower price point.

Easy to assemble even without reading any directions (which are included). Even the shade just clicks together and you're done in a minute. Note: I read several reviews before purchasing and noted the complaint about the base being made crooked and / or the middle section not going together well and making metal shavings. I knew exactly what the issue was and it was not with the lamp. The threads are of necessity very fine. It's easy to cross thread and not realize you have done it. Cross threading will make it lean as noted in others photos. By watching closely when you start screwing it together it will go together perfectly without forcing it. Once I had mine in hand it confirmed what I already knew. Nice lamp. We like the 3 - way. Fits in our skinny spot at the end of the couch perfectly. Handsome appearance, especially when dimly lit for mood lighting. Happy. P.S. If you're not sure about screwing it together, try turning it backwards about a half turn to see if it will start properly. Works for me lots of times. I wish you success. God bless you.

When I received the package I have to admit I was skeptical! The packaging looked a bit beat up and I couldn't imagine a "lamp" being in such a small box especially considering it had a lamp shade that had to be somewhere in there with it. I opened the packaging and decided I was just going to see what happens! To my surprise, it was very easy to assemble and it turned out to be a nice lamp, decently sturdy, and looks super nice for the price! I bought this lamp to go in my home office and chose the antiqued finish which goes nicely with my conservative and large heavy cherry wood desk. So far so good! I would recommend this product!

I’ve had this for years, still holding up perfectly. It’s a beautiful lamp & i wanted something vintage but could not find any floor lamps in my search. This was easy to build, i like that the lamp is adjustable. This was a great purchase.

I knew ahead of time reading the other reviews that the quality of this item was sketchy, but given the price I paid for it, it proved acceptable. I just wanted a task light that was easy to maneuver and which offered options as to lighting intensity in a tight place that desperately needed extra light. It worked, it is lightweight, narrow in profile, easy to use, attractive enough and provided the light necessary for our meals and games at the kitchen table during the holidays. My only issue with the lamp was in screwing it together. At the top, the pieces didn't match up properly and there is a somewhat noticeable tilt there as a result. I merely adjusted the shade a bit to hide the appearance of the tilt. All good. I read the hints in the reviews for dealing with the crumbly styrofoam packaging and the brackets in the lampshade. When it arrived, I knew exactly what to do and wasn't caught off guard. It works and it arrived on time!

I purchased this lamp and then later decided to purchase another to place at the end of my sofa. It is nice looking and better quality than most floor lamps. It was easy to assemble and the shade is good quality. The only issue I had with this lamp is the styrofoam packing that is used in this box: best to assemble outside because you will have little white styrofoam beads everywhere in your house. These beads are difficult to vacuum because they fly everywhere. A month later and I find these white beads everywhere. Because of the dryness it is as if these beads are like fleas and laughed because my cat even had them on his fur.
