Great but limited display for video game fans
This is a nice little speaker, nothing of professional quality or anything, but for what it is, pretty darn good to the average ear. Where it lacks for me is my personal like of video game display. That's not Divoom's fault whatsoever, there's a lot of variety, but I enjoy the Mario and Zelda displays, but there are maybe 3 of them that look correct on it. The app has a ton of variety, so much I haven't even looked through it all, but if you are wanting this to display video game characters or scenes, look into a bigger one perhaps, since only the 8 bit games are really capable, and the variety is pretty low. But again, nice little speaker and very crisp display!

Really fun to have!
Really awesome and vibrant! The sound quality on this is great. It’s a really fun item to mess with and try all the different functions with. Every time I try something new on it, it’s a surprise. Really love how it has different screens for music that are interactive as well! Overall a really fun product to have and it looks amazing as well.

Nice customizable speaker with clock!
Cute Bluetooth speaker. Love that it’s customizable and that you can create any design you want I pixel form! The speaker is great quality, and the battery lasts a long time. The brightness can be changed and can get very high and low. The functionality of the app is very good and syncs well with the phone. It’s the perfect size for a nightstand clock.

Go ahead and buy it
Not to be dramatic but I use this as my speaker to watch movies from my laptop. Maybe I’m tripping but it sounds like I’m a movie theater when I’m watching movies lol also the battery shocked me. It also stayed on for 8+ hours on battery. Definitely worth the purchase. Also looks cool on your desk or wherever you decide to put it. 😎

It's not the device, it's the App..
It's a great device and the LED's on it are stunning. The speakers are loud and the sound quality is also great. The pixel art available is pretty awesome, as well as the (limited) ability of being able to create art yourself. If you're able to get to the point of making art, the screen updates live as you're creating something, which I thought was pretty nice. That brings me to the actual issue. While, itself the product is great, to use the iPhone app you have to be borderline schizophrenic or willingly oblivious to your desires of wanting to achieve a simple task or customization on a device you paid so much money for. The confusion which the app brings, makes it unbearable to use. I ended up having to choose simple artwork that I found and leave it at that as I don't want to ruin it. What initially drew me to this device in particular was the 5th photo, which is labeled 'Smart Clock'. Although it looks really nice in the photo, in actual reality, the border around the numbers is not a perfectly aligned square, which is absolutely ridiculous to me as it shows that the company had to make an altered image just to promote a product. And the fact that they put actual time and effort into falsifying something as minuscule as a perfectly aligned border, out of all things, is what makes it even crazier. I know that it might seem like I am being dramatic, but I got it for a specific reason as I really like things to be in perfect alignment around me. Whether that be the placement of something, or lines connecting a box on a clock which I have to see all day. To top it all off, you also cannot change the color of the border. It makes me truly wonder what the 'developer' was doing, as they were incapable of performing the 1 job they were supposed to, which was to make a useable app. Ultimately, the physical product is great, but the app needs to be completely remade by someone who actually knows how to code, knows what User Experience is, will actually use the app to see what they put on there, and most important of all, has the slightest sense of reality. If you're able to live without having to ever use the app besides the first time, then I definitely recommend it.

2 Year Review
Bought this thing 2 years ago and still works flawlessly (left on 24/7). The customization on this thing is pretty neat (phone app), you can create your animations/images or use community created ones. Create custom slideshows of 9 animations or use the "cloud channel" to cycle through the top 100 rated community created animations of the month all while still displaying the time! The speaker works good enough and the battery life isnt the best but it isnt meant to be a portable speaker, more of a desk piece that you can move around the house if needed. The screen is bright and vibrant with each pixel being outlined which makes them "pop".

Fell short of expectations - also key features no longer functions properly
Shuts off randomly even when plugged in and it seems to no longer holds a charge. I never really got a chance to use it very often, but I have to unplug and replug in the device multiple times before I can get it to turn on. You can and can’t customize much on it in terms of having cycling graphics. Updates never really added anything new to the overall customization. Sound quality wasn’t the best either and now I can’t even get it to play audio clearly anymore. It always starts distorting certain tones after a few seconds, and also has a hard time connecting to Bluetooth. It’s just barely hanging on serving as a digital clock, and that’s all it’s capable of now. For the price and expectation of this device, I would never buy another one from this brand.

I brought this on a whim and I love it! Been seeing the Divoom Ditoo all over my social media and thought it was the cutest thing ever. After some research, I thought Divoom Timebox would be more suited for me. A bigger 16x16 pixel display and a 6W DSP speaker. The Divoom Timebox Pixel Art Speaker is a unique and innovative device that combines a Bluetooth speaker with a pixel art display. It offers a range of features that make it an interesting and versatile gadget for any music lover and art enthusiast. The speaker itself delivers a crisp and clear sound that is sure to please audiophiles. It connects to any device via Bluetooth, making it easy to play music from your phone, tablet, or laptop. The Timebox also has a built-in microphone, which allows you to take calls without having to disconnect your device. However, what really sets the Timebox apart is its pixel art display. The 11x11 LED grid allows you to create and display your own custom designs or animations. The accompanying app offers a variety of pre-designed pixel art options, and you can even use it to create your own designs using a simple interface. Another unique feature of the Timebox is its alarm clock function. You can set multiple alarms, and the pixel art display will change to show a unique animation or message when the alarm goes off. This is a fun and creative way to wake up in the morning. The Timebox also has a variety of other features, including a sleep aid mode that plays calming sounds and animations to help you fall asleep, and a social media notification function that displays notifications from your favourite social media apps. Overall, the Divoom Timebox Pixel Art Speaker is a fun and innovative device that is perfect for anyone who loves music and art. Its unique features make it a versatile gadget that can be used in a variety of settings, from your bedroom to your office. If you're looking for a Bluetooth speaker that stands out from the crowd, the Timebox is definitely worth considering.

This little speaker is amazing. First of everyone is talking about the pixel display of course. But let me tell you that the sound quality is quite good. I like everyone else bought this for the pixels and to be honest wasn't expecting much from the speaker, but it's really on par with my JBL Clip 5 which costs about the same. But on top of the unexpected good speaker you get the pixel display which is so much fun! The app is all community based, so there's literally millions of animations to download and add to the device. There's a section with pro creators and they really make some amazing little animations. I was also amazed by just how quality everything seems to be, from packaging right to the product itself. The packaging is really nice and it really feels like a treat to open it up. Everything is packed well and the speaker itself is well protected. The case comes in a sleeve then the speaker itself is in a sleeve as well and then wrapped in protective foam and then on top of that is covered with the screen protector peel which is always a delight to peel off and see that fresh shiny brand new glossy black appear. The product itself the outside is sort of rubbery which feels very premium. Its quite heavy and certainly seems the battery inside has some good juice to keep this thing going for a while. The sound quality is good and the display just looks amazing specially in the dark. Since its just leds, black means really black. I had some floating hearts animation going at night and it really looked like the little hearts where just floating in mid air as the rest stayed completely black and my room was completely dark. There was no telling where the display ends and it just looked like those little hearts where floating. It was so cool and was staring at it for an hour haha. I guess I also should mention some negatives, but really don't take these too seriously as this is the most fun I had for 40 euro's (got it on sale) I had since a long while. The app is just plain confusing. The app is really about the community creations, which I really love because there are some amazing creators on there. But in my opinion they have overdone it a little like there is a chat room in there and everything which in my opinion is just a bit too much and shouldn't have been in there. Because there's so many things in the app it gets kind of confusing on where is what. I'm working in IT and even I had to take some time to figure out where all the options are and how its supposed to work. There's really nothing about it in the manual and it's just kinda trying out everything. But I guess once you figured it out and also remember everything it's fine and you know how to set it up. But yeah to be honest, this is really all the negative I have really. I just really love this little box! 2 things that could have made it even better Wished it had Wifi making it more work as a stand alone device at home. Now it needs bluetooth basically for everything, making it more a bluetooth speaker to take along with your phone instead of like a standalone speaker you can place somewhere in your house as a display. For example to show weather it needs an active bluetooth connection which idk makes it less usable just as an info display. I really think this device is more of a home smart speaker more like a Google Home or something, but now it operates more like a JBL Clip to just use with your phone. Another thing I really wished it could do is install Apps and be open for external developers to create apps. Now you can just upload your own animations, but it would have been amazing if you could also install Apps. Like for example I don't like the clock options that are available, the few clock options that are there are really ugly in my opinion and you can't really customize them either. Really wished I could make my own clock app and install it on the device. Like if this thing would be opened up for apps through some SDK or something the possibilities would really have been endless. I mean in the end of the day this clearly is just a mini computer. I'm sure there is some ARM processor inside with an OS and surely their own weather and clock etc are just apps. Opening this thing up for 3th party developers to do whatever would make this thing go really next level. Hopefully in some future updates they will add this option. I'd be the first person to jump on the SDK for sure! But yeah my negative points are just more of wishes I would think make this device go from Amazing to Extraordinary! But already its totally worth the price in its current state and already I'm thinking about getting one just for the bedroom so I don't need to move this one around the house where I go all the time haha. I can really recommend this to everyone and their moms. It's just so much fun to have these little animations going. Like last night I putted on a little fireplace animation with some crackling fireplace sounds through the bluetooth speaker. Best sleep I had in a long time haha. Too bad the battery was dead in the morning but I've had it on on full brightness for the whole and day and evening already. Can't say exactly when the battery went flat in the night as I was sleeping. But the battery lasted at least like 8 hours if not more? So yeah thumbs up for battery life too. 10/10 as is and would be 20/10 if they update it with the possibility to create your own apps and not just animations!
