Please allow me to save you time...this is the Cadillac of baby bath products
A very wise friend gifted the Mustela starter set to me a few years ago for my shower and while I used mostly all of the products fully, this particular product wasn't included at the time, thus prompting me on my very expensive and disappointing quest to find the ultimate baby bathing products. Let's be clear: you certainly can use J&J, Burt's Bees, Aveeno, Angel Baby, California Baby, Pretentious Baby or whatever you like without my judgment, as this review isn't an homage to all things green and organic. It's in fact quite the contrary. While I can appreciate why that is important to many, after 3 years of testing products, both organic and otherwise; I've come full circle with my original gut instinct: organic products simply can't get done the same job that "formulated" products can. I am sorry to all the tree loving moms out there, but I have found this to be true with both my husband and my products as well as our kids.Sorry...I digress. Back to the product review. This product, and all others by this maker, are head and shoulders above the rest. Here's why:1. The scent. It's perfect, heavenly and lingers on both of my kids until the next bath rolls around. I have actually found that their body heat intensifies the smell.2. It cleans. It also lathers beautifully. Not to say that indicates it's cleaning (as I've been told it doesn't) but truth be told, I'm old school here. Good lather = good clean.3. Rinses easily and leaves hair soft, shiny and tangle free.4. It lasts. no pumps, just squeeze a small amount in your hand, rub your hands together and apply. As other reviewers have pointed out, a little goes a long way.4. While I cannot speak to it's chemical composition, sadly I admit that it's French, so, uh, I trust it.Overall, run don't walk to grab this one and save money by ending your quest to find the perfect cleanser.

A Life Saver
I'm a grown ass 23 year old woman. For years I struggled with a dry, flaky, itchy scalp. Nothing I did seem to help it. Tryed Vaseline, sulfate free shampoo, hair oils, mason person brush nothing helped ! Only coconut oil helped a bit. Winter comes and my scalp is hell. Now it's cracking and bleeding. I'm miserable. At this point I was using Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo to combat the dryness since it seemed to help a bit and I was desperate. Then I remembered my momma used to use Mustela on me with no problems and I was like okay what the hell I'll try it.And boy I swear I heard angels singingA couple weeks into it and my scalp was feeling flyIt stop bleeding, flaking and it blissfully stop itching. But more surprisingly my hair started to get curly again!! Not even the $50 recommend shampoo from Ester salon did that. This product is a life saver I recommend it not just for babies but for people who are at their wits end with their dry hair, you won't regret it

Still the best
When our baby was born, he got really bad cradle cap that went all the way to his forehead. I searched for baby shampoos that would help get rid them. This was the most popular one and I got the trial set from a different store. It included several other products but this was the one that we fell in love with. It smells so good. It smells better than the Dermo-Cleansing gel it came with. We could already tell it was working after the first use. We never looked back. It not only completely got rid of his cradle cap but it also got rid of the red dry patch that was on his face. His skin is so smooth, moisturized and blemish free. We had a time when we ran out and we ended up using The Honest Co shampoo/bodywash which we got from the babyshower. His cradle cap or face blemish didn't return or anything, but I noticed that his skin is dryer than normal. And the smell didn't last all day like the Mustela. We're glad we can get this online for the same price and have it delivered to us in two days.

New floral scent is a total bummer! What happened, Mustela?
What the heck Mustela? Why would you change the scent on an amazing product. Look at the reviews.... people love your product. I do (did) too. It is unmatched in the baby shampoo/wash arena. But, the latest tube we bought has the new, unbearable scent. We opened it and.... wooosh.... this new, strong, unpleasant scent took over the bathroom! It smells like a combo of a Grandma's strong vintage floral perfume and a ton of baby powder.I used to LOVE the old scent. it was unique and fresh. This new scent is a huge bummer. I am still using it because it is gentle and rinses well. Mustela- offer both scents: the original and new.Why don't you offer both scent options: original and floral? (or something like that?) The old stuff was perfect... "If it ain't broke...."8.15.16 EDIT to 4 stars ** I have to say that I have tried other brands and Mustela is the best. I have gotten accustomed to the new scent (I would still like the option to buy the old scent, thought, Mustela). But based on performance alone, this is still the leader.

No eczema breakouts
My son gets eczema, especially after bath-time. We use some lotion after bath to help reduce this. But we found some soaps make this really bad. I switched to this one even though it was a bit pricier than the old brand. We are very pleased with the results. I can't even remember the last time he had a breakout. We use it both as a soap for body, and as a shampoo. It does leave his hair a bit dryer than the old shampoo. We have not had any incidents of getting in his eyes, so I can't tell you if it is tear-free. I suspect it is not, so I'm more careful when I wash his hair. A little goes a long way when applied to a washcloth, and if his hair is already wet, I've found I can use the soaped-up washcloth to wash his hair after I've already cleaned off his body. So, although the bottle is small, it should last longer if you are conscious with it. Recommend for sensitive skin, and for those trying to move away from having one bottle for soap and another for shampoo.
